Is This Even a WILD? Is This Normal For a WILD?

I noticed a few odd things happening just before my first WILD last night (VERY brief, I ended up waking myself almost as soon as it started)

I saw three or four small lights "twinkle." I experienced extremely violent spinning to the point that it was painful and then there was this extremely loud high pitched ringing. When all these things woke me up I was in sleep parlysis, but unable to retain the dream. Upon closing and reopenning my eyes I found myself fully awake. I also saw a brief (but vivid) halucination before opening my eyes for the second time.

I've not read or heard of any of these things happening during a WILD (except the halucinations). I'm just curious if these are normal, or if maybe I'm mistaking that this even was a WILD?

Hallucinations encompass all the senses, not just sight. During SP or any WILD related occurrence people often experience these hallucinations not only through sight but also sound and feel, as well as the other senses though they're less common. Hearing sounds happen pretty often during WILDs and can be anything from a high pitch ringing to somebody talking. Vibrations are also a common experience, though more common than a spinning sensation but those happen every once in a while too. Just remember that all these feelings and sights and sounds are just in your head, none of them are real. Use their arrival as a sign that you are almost to a lucid dream.

Burke has really explained it well. Also remember that the hallucinations and sleep paralysis vary from person to person. There might be similarities such as tingling sensations and buzzing or popping in the ears, but ultimately, the intensity is different for everyone, and some don't even feel the sleep paralysis when they WILD.

      Good luck, happy dreaming

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
