      WILDs ending to quickly?

I've been having this problem off and on since having my first WILD. Initially I thought it was dream stabilization so I focused on making my dream feel stable before moving around in it but this hasn't been helping.

The dreams end very abruptly. In other lucid dreams I could feel the dream losing stability and I could fight to stay in it. These WILDs have no struggle and seem to end almost instantly.

I've had quite a few of these and the WILDs end within 30 seconds to 3 minutes after a transition.

Does this sound like dream stability issues or could it be something else? It is starting to get frustrating because of the amount of time I put towards WILDing. Getting to the transition use to feel like the hard part and the dream felt easy but now the roles seem like they reversed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, happy dreaming!

Did you try stabilization techniques, such as spinning or looking at your hands?

You can do anything, it's your mind. Shout angry commands at your mind: "I command thee to stabilize this dream!", or just will it to happen.

You probably didn't have time to fall asleep deep enough to stay in a WILD (with DILD, you are already asleep).

But you say you stopped untill you stabilize. Don't stop. Keep moving, while stabilizing. Move to the nearest wall/object and touch it, feel it, look at something (hands, if there is nothing else), smell the air, stomp your feet, clap your hands, sing, start throving fireballs, shouting commands, but don't stop walking. You have to establish yourself in the dream, become part of it.

I totally agree with the previous replies. I also suggest perhaps doing some meditation or relaxation techniques before proceeding to the attempt itself. Your physical state can affect that too; if your body becomes too active, and you don't get into the proper calm state, you could end up waking up very quickly.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thank you for the replies, good advice gab. I was trying what you suggested (instead of waiting in the void i opened my eyes and tried to push my way through the unclear phase) last night i ended up having 3 wilds, the first two ended very quickly (within 30 seconds) but the 3rd one lasted about 5 minutes. During the first attempt i was focusing on my hand, it was very clear and i was shaking it, shortly after i began i found myself awake. The second time my hand was clear below my fist and the fist was very blurry i struggled to bring it into focus and as it came into focus i woke up. The 3rd time (i remained very calm when i woke up and kept a clear mind, my transitions after awaking were within a minute of waking every time) lasted about 5 minutes and had was stable and clear.

The problems im having is the dreams that last for a very short time feel very stable and end abruptly. Maybe i am sleeping lighter then normal, do you have any suggestions to prolong the WILDs? Id prefer not to add meditation to my routine because i already spend so much time getting into WILDs, but if that is my only option i will keep an open mind. Thank you in advance

      First of all, congrats!

You know, maybe your REM was ending, and then your dream will end no matter what.

Maybe you thinking too much about how your LDs are short. That could be making them short. Does it make sense? I used mantra "long and stable" and tried to convince myself that my dreams really are long and stable. It worked for a few LDs. It may be worth a shot.
