Question DILD problem. Can't get myself to stay conscious. Please Help.

      Hey,
I am repeatedly experiencing the same problem and have no idea to overcome it.
First off, I have decided to try DILD technique. So According to the tutorial,
I first relax my body using a relaxation technique. And after that, i roll over into a sleeping position and then relax my mind and stay conscious. Now the problem is, when i stay conscious, I will not drift into sleep. I will be totally aware. And if my mind wanders, then I fall asleep.
Today morning I remained conscious for an hour unsuccessfully going back to sleep. Then I just gave up and went to sleep.
Please help. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm you mean the WILD right? My advice to you would be to either try the DEILD method before starting with the traditional WILD technique, because then the transition into the dream just take a couple of seconds and the relaxation step can be completley skipped since you do it after an awakening. If you still choose to continue the traditional WILD I suggest that you practice some meditation because if you don't relax your body AND your mind you can literally lay awake for hours with nothing ever happening and it can lead to insomnia for that night.

And if you are not already doing it, I suggest that you do your attempts combined with the Wake Back to Bed technique otherwise the attempt will be a pain.

      Good luck

I agree with MasterMind It sounds like you're talking about the WILD method, which is when you go from waking state directly into the dream state without losing consciousness. The DILD method is basically when you become lucid sometime while you are dreaming already.

Definitely heed MasterMind's advice. In addition to that, if you do pursue WILD, may I suggest checking out Sageous' WILD Class. It is really in depth and informative, and would really help you truly understand a WILD.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Maybe you should try relaxing or is the position you sleeping for the wild dream not comfortable, you won't be able to have wild dreams, just try to relax a little bit and make sure that you are tired enough,so that the dream will take it course or maybe search a little bit in internet or go to this site Wake Induced Lucid Dreams (The WILD Technique) this is a good place to start.

Hey guys, I am so sorry, I meant WILD. Not DILD. Thanks mastermind, it is true, maybe it's because my mind is not relaxed as well.
