Their are many gaps in the information I present

WILD

From what I have studied and practiced.
A simple way to work with the body, and mind

Meditation analysis

Most laymen know , "Meditation? ahh clear the mind? simple!"

Picking some of this apart I'll lay upon you what I find to be true for myself and substantially universal for much who deeply practice

As you attempt to WILD, forget about WILD. It's sleep time.
Take the time, clear your mind
Rest and relax your body.
Position yourself much like you're just going to bed.

Now what you're attempting , is to be aware of your dream.
When you fall asleep you're loosing awareness in an attempt to fall asleep and surrender your mind to run it's usual program

But, you have to hit in between Letting yourself go, but holding on to what is going on with your mind and body.

This is the practice that takes time

At this point you must be the WATCHER
Let us split our activities of consciousness as
The Thinker, The Feeler, The watcher

Instead of thinking upon a thought
Ex: Man, I need to do this, or that

Don't press the thought further.
let it stop itself.

When a memory comes up
We have emotions that are triggered
Ex: Happy, sad, fear

Don't press the memory further
Let it stop itself

This whole time you are watching yourself do this
But usually only part of your awareness if really watching
you are being impulsive

Focus more on watching yourself do all this
after awhile it will all slow

To help with relaxation
Watch the way your body feels; don't react to it just watch
Watch the way your thoughts flow; Don't react , just watch

now at some point you will feel yourself accepting the rest,
and have no feeling or thoughts to want to actually physically move

Feed have your awareness of watching, to resting

This is the balance we all struggle to find
Sometimes we remain to aware of watching how we are, and remain awake
Sometimes we fall to deep and loose more awareness of watching ourselves, that soon the body is being impulsive, and doing as it sees fit. Resting, sleeping

This balance will allow you to on command be able to WILD

This is... the true nature of meditation.
Which is the natural tool towards WILD

That which allows Monks to push this evermore futher and practice dream yoga.
Or Reach many forms of enlightenment , or peace, or bliss
Because this practice helps ourselves learn to be more aware.
To not let our emotions control our actions.
Not to say , emotions are destructive.
But to say, their need to be a balance between Emotional, and rational.
Wise mind
