I've also had these happen to me a couple times. To me, it's like I'm having "intermittent awareness". I don't really know what else to call it, but it's like i slip in and out of awareness.
I'm not quite sure what you mean with the WBTB thing though. I'm thinking that if you mess with the WBTB time, you might not get that consciousness thing in the first place. I suppose you could stick with your normal WBTB or when you naturally wake up. I have used this "intermittent awareness" thing to have DEILDs when I would wake up in the night, feel myself dipping in and out of consciousness, and I'd visualize the dream scene then reenter it. Not sure how to use it for a proper WILD though. :/
