Pulsing Feeling Like Getting Hit by a Shockwave?

Hi there, I'm recently going back to lucid dreaming after a long break.
I use WILD and WBTB mostly for lucid dreaming, so I'm quite used to the vibration that happens before entering into the dream, but recently, even before my break, the vibration or the SP, comes in almost instantaneously like a pulse. This morning I'm pretty sure it happened 5 times in a row. It's like falling into SP, but immediately jolting out of it. The sensation is quite severe, it's not much of a bother, but does anybody else have the same experience?

      Things I've done while Lucid:

      - Flying - Dream Rewind and Fast Forward
      - Invisibility - Shapeshifting - Grown Wings
      - Summoning [mastered (?)] - Zip lining
      - Fireball

      When does this happen?

And about SP - vibrations are not part of SP, they are part of just regular falling asleep sensations, kinda between NREM and REM stages.

Hmm.. there seems to be a glitch with quoting in threads atm.

It usually happens when I use WBTB in the mornings. Usually if I succeed with one lucid, it would be followed by these sensations whenever I would wake up and fall asleep again in an effort to do a WILD.

Thanks for replying! It's not a part of sp? O.o But these vibrations are part of 'going into' lucid dreaming right? Especially for WILDing? I had a previous thread asking about this too, perhaps you may know. Does this sensation have a name? I've read that it's also sort off an entrance into OBE's and Astral Projections.?

If you right-click on reply with quote and then "open in new tab", you get a new tab in which quoting works. Same way with edit your post.

If you wake up from one lucid and you manage to not move and you stay in REM (since you just had a dream, there is a good chance you will still be in REM), you can enter another dream lucidly. This is called DEILD (dream exit initiated lucid dream). It practically is a shortened WILD. It can be used for chaining your lucids.

The vibrations are sensations you feel as falling asleep. Yes, they can be a good indicator of you getting close to a dream/lucid dream. But sometimes you don't get vibrations, but you may get some other sensations. So can't rely on that as the only indicator.

Sometimes you get more than one wave of vibrations. I used to think that you get second wave, when you fail to enter lucid/obe after first one. But it could be, that you have to wait for all of the waves to come and go before you enter LD/obe. But really not sure about this thing.

SP is when you can't move your body no matter what. It happens after we fall asleep when we dream. But sometimes it can kick in little sooner, or stay active little bit after we wake up and that's when we experience it. Some people feel it more often, but for majority, it's a 1-2 in a lifetime thing.

Wheather you have it or not, doesn't matter for LDing purposes. None of the sensations should be a goal in lucid dreaming. They should be observed passively.

Not sure they have a name. They normally start in NREM, just before you cross to REM.

Here is more about Sensations and types of entry into WILD
and an excellent WILD (sageous) tutorial

Please, do ask if you have any more questions. Happy dreams
