      Exclamation Problems with WILD

      Here are my three problems:

1-Last night (and probably the one before) I just fell asleep, I think I get enough sleep every night so maybe is due to not being able to WILD quickly enough or because lack of technique.

2-I don't know what to do while in WILD, a useful technique I've used is to visualize whatever I want all the time while trying not to pay too much attention to it till I fall asleep/WILD. Maybe I give it too much attention and thus I fall asleep or maybe It's because I keep it for too long. Or maybe I shouldn't visualize at all, I don't know.

3-The only time I had a "successful" WILD lasted the record time of 5 seconds:
"Am I dreaming? 5 fingers! Yay!"
"What an impressive definition, I can't believe I am dreaming"
"The door is fine, I hope there's nothing awaiting me in the other side of the room... There isn't"
"But what if there is? I'm scared, there may be something nightmarish out here, let's open and close my eyes to escape"
"There's no light in the room! I'll try to move as much as I can"
      "The dream fades, I'm saved!"
      "Wait... dammit!"

      1. If you do WBTB before WILD and you just fall asleep, maybe you didn't stay up long enough. Are you using a mantra?

      2. All you should be concentrating on is your mantra. That should be the only thing in your head. But even that should be just in the background. You can jump-start dreaming process by thinking about your previous dream, but stop trying to influence them when they take off on their own.

Just so you know, sometimes you don't have images before a WILD, and if you concentrate too hard on previous dream, it may hamper your proces. So best thing would be just to be an passive observer to everything that's happening. Later, after you more successfull inducing WILDs, you can try and incubate a dream by visualizing.

      3. It's normal for some lucids to be that short. It will get better with practice.

I'm using WBTB with two hours between waking up and going to bed again. I don't use a mantra, and being a passive observer actually seems fine, thanks

Two hours is longer than usuall, but it may work for you. Then I suspect you not having a mantra, an anchor, that would help you stay on this side of awareness a problem. Mantra is something, that will occupy your mind and keep it awake, while your body is falling asleep.

Check out this tutorial (mantras) . Pick or make your own.
