Exclamation Trouble with the wake induced lucid dream!

Recently I've had my first two lucid dreams in a short ammount of time, I've been discussing this on the IRC, but before this I was already interested in WILDs and only came close to one once! How can I...
      • Stop my muscles from tensing when I'm reaching tipping point because this sends my torso into the air!
      • Ignore annoying itches!
      • Concentrate on the dream!
      • Relax!
      • Stop myself from giving up!
      • Control my breathing pattern because I end up having to breathe in and out and it distracts me from completing the process! <- THE MAIN OFFENDER

Please answer each and every one of them because they all play a part in stopping me from having a WILD!

YES SWALLING SALIVA IS ANOTHER REALLY ******* ANNOYING ONE I HAVE TROUBLE WITH

You answered them all yourself; relax. lol.
When you are doing a WILD, don't forget that you are trying to have a lucid DREAM, hence, you have to fall asleep. Falling asleep is the main objective, not staying fully conscious. You need to pay passive attention to your anchor, your body, everything and just try to fall asleep. If you keep actively thinking about itches, muscles and breathing, you won't be able to drift into sleep. Your primary goal is to remove any sources of active thought that will distract you. If you have an itch, scratch it. If your muscles are tensing, then you need to relax. If concentrating on breathing seems to be an issue for you, then why not use that as your anchor? Track your breath, in and out, and use it to slip into a lucid dream.
And about stopping yourself from giving up, that's something that only you can find the correct solution to.

Well basically, I just went to sleep but tracked my breathing, and after a while, I wanted to move my foot slightly. I couldn't move it, so I recognized that I was in sleep paralysis. I concentrated on my bedroom, visualized it and built up the image in my mind. I kind of 'placed' myself there, and found myself standing in my bedroom! Then I started flying and stuff, it was trés fun. I didn't even recognize whether I was really ready to enter the dream; if I had not tried to move my foot I probably would have given up and fallen asleep. You will not always experience HH, rem atonia or whatever.

This WILD (sageous) tutorial will answer all your questions.

Some of the ideas like "don't scratch" are outdated. If you do it without getting upset over it, you can move and scratch and swallow, just as you would when falling asleep normally.

Some things like not tensing, relaxing, concentrating on what you need to, breathing... will become easier to do with more practice. Every attempt, even if you don't reach LD will teach you the process.

      a) going into SP is not an objective, it is not what you are trying to achieve. trying to achieve SP will make WILDing more difficult.
      b) going into SP requires you to fall asleep; SLEEP paralysis. It happens, when you are asleep. How can you fall asleep when your eyes are open?

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

If you're having trouble with the WILD multiple of times you should try different techniques because I know wild is what a lot of people use and it is a certainly famous technique for lucid dreaming but trust me, if it does not work then it is probably not for you. I have tried wild a lot of times and I cannot do it, I'm not trying to say don't do it but if it doesn't work experiment with other things.

WBTB and MILD works (for me). WBTB is probably the most effective.
