    Thread: Can I go into a wild whilst looking at a clock so that I know how much time has passed

      The aim in WILD is to fall asleep — your body, that is — with your mind awake. Unless you have nocturnal lagophthalmos (a condition where you sleep with your eyes partially or fully open), then I don't think you can. And even if you did have that, you wouldn't be able to perceive anything you're seeing because you're just like a normal sleeping person except with open eyes.

      So nope, I don't think you can let your body fall asleep while opening your eyes looking at the clock. And the previous poster is right, you shouldn't worry about the time. Focus on your dream and on your goal. The more you worry about the technical things like how much time has passed or the sensations you're feeling, the more you will be grounded into the physical side, and not be able to go into the dream.
