I don't really know how long I have to wait, if it's possible to miss the gap in which you go into your lucid dream, or what not

From what I understand a WILD will work the best when you close your eyes. Trying to think about time and worrying may also reduce your chances of having a WILD. The key is to be relaxed and to not worry.

      I agree ^

The aim in WILD is to fall asleep — your body, that is — with your mind awake. Unless you have nocturnal lagophthalmos (a condition where you sleep with your eyes partially or fully open), then I don't think you can. And even if you did have that, you wouldn't be able to perceive anything you're seeing because you're just like a normal sleeping person except with open eyes.

So nope, I don't think you can let your body fall asleep while opening your eyes looking at the clock. And the previous poster is right, you shouldn't worry about the time. Focus on your dream and on your goal. The more you worry about the technical things like how much time has passed or the sensations you're feeling, the more you will be grounded into the physical side, and not be able to go into the dream.

      Good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
