Unhappy I wild every night, but i wake up by fear of what will happen

      Hi dream sniper,

Every night i start wilds with no problem, for example, yesterday i had three wild attempts, if i can remember well.

The problem is that, iīm not very scared thinking what can happen to me, but often I visualize something touching me, a phantom in front of me, etc.. I canīt control that, just, I guess these things.

And itīs really not a problem, i get over it quickly, because these thoughts only last for a second and after that, iīm visualizing myself having a good time...

For example, yesterday, in my first WILD i heard these steps running from my roomīs door to my bed, and that freaked shit out me.. How the hell did you overcome these things?

In the second WILD attempt, i hadnīt hallucinations or anything weir, simply dark, and waiting after 30 secs i simply woke up, I dared not to wait.

ŋHow i overcome all of this?

Thanks and sorry for my english.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps it's now happened so often that you almost expect it each time you WILD? Would you say that you anticipate having this momentary freak out each time you try and WILD?

If so, I'd recommend mantras, in which you repeat to yourself that you have control over what you experience so that you believe that these scary visualisations won't appear if you don't want them to.

i like to DIELD which is a form of WILD, and when my mind starts to wonder about paranoid thoughts and scary things i just remember why i am here and all of the wonderful and awesome things that are now possible, and how i will let nothing stand in my way. I also like to spawn music like Rock/Heavy Metal that will give me confidence and power, or nice relaxing music that will help me think positivley. Hope this helps, think about all of the good stuff

Those HH can be freaky. There is really no other way to overcome the fear than to realize it's just hallucinations.

When I get some scary thoughts while WILDing, I do my best to replace them by visualizing something pretty. For this, I look at some videos on youtube of places I find beautifull. If I can't get rid of bad thoughts, I abort and try again later.

Sometimes you don't get any HH, or the darkness itself is already a lucid dream. Sensations and types of entry into WILD.

yeah dude dont give up man, accomplishing a vivid lucid dream can be one of the most amazing and fun things that you can ever do, just work on your recall, and i reccomend not trying to WILD as soo as you go to bed at night, there is very little chance it will work, you should try DIELD, its like WILD exept much easier. Just dont give up man its not worth it

I rarely have HH, but when I do, it is something that will make me wake up.

      Here are three instances:

1 My wife calling my name. Of course I would wake up.

2 My wife getting ready for work when I know she should have left a long time ago.

3 Someone just calling out to me. Saying "Hey." I was barely conscious, so I just got up and looked around.

Nothing really scary. I just anticipate hearing noises and plan on ignoring, but when it is something that makes sense it is hard to ignore.

Yeah. It is annoying. The few times that I have WILDed, I didn't hear them. I think I just need to ignore them so much that I don't even hear HH, I am just suddenly in a dream.

Dream hugger. I recommend that if you do give up, try to maximize your dream recall. If you get good enough dream recall you will see how amazing LDs can be. Last night I saw the Grand Canyon covered in snow, and started swimming through the ground and snow. It wasn't like I was "remembering" doing this, it was as real and vivid as real life. Soooo amazing. Non lucids can be just as fun, and if you have a lot you will probably want to LD more.

      Exclamation The Steps....

      i understand

when you heard that THING running to your bed you probably thought it was someone trying to kill you right, it was obviously some hallucination, just don't worry about it and remember it won't hurt you or anything... but like you said, it may scare you.

I often hear and see things even when I'm just trying to get to sleep normally. I think you just have to try and get used to the unusual and rather scary looking sights/sounds that may appear. I often see the face of a woman when I'm trying to sleep, usually undead but sometimes she is alive and screams out at me (though the sound is inaudible). I've just learned to put up with it and recognize that it can do no harm. The more you experience them, the more you will learn to ignore them.

      Good luck
