      Entering a WILD

I've had a few WILDS and DEILDS over the last few months and I feel I definitely prefer going for one of these over a DILD as, for me, these have produced the best results. However the majority of the time I have had one it has been pretty much unintentional. The most vivid dream to date I woke up in sleep paralysis and just figured I should go back to sleep and I kept focusing on an image on my hands and eventually the dream world developed around me.
So I entered that dream pretty much straight away. I've tried doing the same recently, like last night for instant, but didn't awake with paralysis. I must have stayed still for 30-45 minutes and was becoming numb but no other sensations. In the end I got a bit fed up and had to move.

So I'm gonna assume I didn't wake up at the right time. I've mentioned in another post that my sleep is a little weird at the moment as I'm on some medication and it knocks me out for a good 12 hours and I find that my dreaming is somewhat affected by this. Usually when one tries to enter a WILD how long on average does it really take to get into the dream? If anyone has any general tips on WILDing in general I'd appreciate that as well. Cheers

I wait at most ten minutes when WILDing. After that I lean more towards just sleeping.

I wake up at 4,6,7 hours, but I try to DEILD all of them (I suck at that right now, but I am getting better) and then I SSILD them and try for WILD.

Just my schedule with it. Everyone's sleep is different, and depending on how much sleep you have, stress you have, times you normally wake up, exercise, you have. These will all be a factor and more, so try and keep everything the same each night for a month and experiment with different times of waking.

Good luck! I hope this helps. I am not a WILD expert, I have only had 8 so far (first one in.... October I think).

It takes me around 10 minutes as well. 15 max. But only if I manage to wake up during a REM period.

When you gain more experience you'll learn how to tell the difference between waking up in a REM period and waking up after REM. If I wake up during REM I usually start to see HI almost immediately. My head feels clear but I also feel rather distant from myself and my spatial awareness is poor. I feel like my self has been significantly reduced and have little sense of the world around me. If I wake up after REM I just feel groggy and stupid and weak.

Most natural awakenings during the night will be after REM. If I wake up naturally and it's during a REM phase it's usually because I was having an intense dream and my emotions woke me up.
