      Sleep paralysis ( wild technique)

Hey Dv , every time I decide to use the WILD technique , I get scared and don't wanna do it anymore because I'm scared to hallucinate from sleep paralysis prior to the stories I've heard about sleep paralysis and how it's terrifying. Is there anyway I can go through sleep paralysis easily and not have a terrifying experience ? If so , please give me some feedback. Thank you so much - Dillan654

I went about asking a friend of mine with a lot of experience with SP and this is what he said:

With SP, you get what you expect. If you are afraid, you will experience fear. If you understand that SP is a natural process and accept that, you will most likely not have a frightful experience.

Our focus determines our reality. Feel fear = manifest a fearful experience. Feel joy = manifest a joyful experience.

Maybe its the same with reality too but with a buffer time?!?! After all, whatever we think about most - whatever we feel about, we have a tendency to bring about

Even if you do experience it, stay calm, close your eyes and wait for the dream..

WILDing does not necessarily mean that you will go through sleep paralysis. This is a common misconception. Sleep paralysis is a sleeping disorder that is often confused with REM atonia. This thread should ease your fears about it.

exactly. a lot of people don't even have sleep paralysis (not being able to move) during WILDs. The noises and vibrations are all just standard hypnogogia that is mislabeled as SP. And the only way you would even KNOW if you do have SP or not in the first place is if you try to move or open your eyes, and why would you do that if you are trying to fall asleep? Go for the WILD. It was a bit scary when I first did it because I did it on accident. Don't worry! For most people REM Atonia starts after they fall asleep anyway.

100% guaranteed way of coming out of sleep paralysis in under a minute: Just change your breathing pattern.

Among other things you still have control over your breathing. Unless you have a condition known as sleep-apnea in which case you would know about it anyway.

That has worked for me in the past, but recently it didn't work at all. I was just laying there, making myself breathe in all kinds of abnormal ways, and it still took a long time to bring myself out of it. Someone suggested to me in another thread that holding your breath would work a lot better.

Of course, the BEST way to deal with it is to not fight it and turn it into a lucid. By simply relaxing and focusing on trying to enter a dream, it will go away so much faster than if you struggle to get out of it. And then you're lucid and can do whatever you want.

You can't change the subject, lol. That would be and I suggest you make a thread in Beyond dreaming about that.
