Sleep paralysis carries over into LD

Hello, I just registered here today after coming across this forum while doing my own research on LD's. I must say this seems to be the most comprehensive source of information I've found on the subject so far.

In my own experience with LD's I have run into a certain problem.

Lately I've been getting better and better at inducing LD's using the WILD method and I find the whole sleep paralysis and Hypnagogic hallucination stage to be just as fascinating as the LD's themselves.

The problem I'm having is that once my real body becomes paralysed and I push through the Exploding Head Syndrome the sleep paralysis always seems to carry over into my lucid dream and my dream body feels like it weighs ten times what it should and hampers my ability to do things in my dream. If I try to fly or jump as high as I can I'll only make it to about ceiling hight before being pulled back down to my bed and often back into the Exploding Head Syndrome or else into multiple false awakenings.

Spinning in my dream will usually prevent me from waking up, but I still can't seem to get rid of the overly heavy feeling I have while lucid.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a way around it?

Also, does anyone know of some good ways to prevent false awakenings?
While I find them to be fascinating as well, I never have just one or two of them. I've had as few as four in a row and as many as twelve. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated too.

      Yo and welcome to dreamviews!
Are you sure you are experiencing real sleep paralysis, like not being able to move, have you tried to? There's common misconception about WILD and SP, be sure to check out http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html , also check out this WILD tutorial, especially if what you are experiencing is not true SP: WILD
Also it seems like you might need to try different stabilization technique, spinning is usually last resort technique to stabilize, not the main one, check out this tutorial: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views , i personally prefer 'engaging senses' and 'rubbing hands' ones.
As for false awakenings, i am not sure if there's any way to prevent them, but why would you want to? They are pretty awesome for becoming lucid, and in fact most of my lucid dreams i got from them one way or another. Though to prevent returning to bed in dream i would suggest not thinking about bed / being in the bed while in dream as well as proper stabilization.

Thanks for those great links Checker666.

And acording to the one on SP what I am experiencing when I refer to SP is in fact REM Atonia, which is something that has never bothered me. In fact I find it to be quite relaxing and almost hypnotic. I know I could easily move if I wanted to but it would most definitely wake me up if I did.
But it this feeling of 'having a blanket pulled over me' that seems to carry over into the the lucid dream. Once I pass through the Hypnagogic Vibrations or what some call the EHS stage (mostly audio which to me sound like a car driving really fast down a gravel road) and my dream takes shape (I'm always lucid from the start and usually in my room on my bed) it's the same type of heaviness, the same type of feeling my real body feels going through REM Atonia. The only difference is in my dream my dream body can move, although very sluggishly.

One thing I found odd though, sivason says SP happens after the onset of REM. In my experience SP is always the first thing I go through on my way to dreamland whether or not I become lucid. I used to feel it all the time when I would meditate before trying to go to sleep back before I even heard of LD's. Now I use it as a relaxation technique to achieve them.
