      wild using visualisations

hy i just came to know about a visualization technique for having wake initiated lucid dream and i think its the best and straight forward as compared to all wild techniques but i want people like me who are trying to wild and who are doing it successfully read the post and give their reviews because it will help me and people having difficulty doing wild . we all have difficulty somewhere but not necessarily the same so we can help each other and can enjoy wild.

first of all read the technique and then i will ask my questions and readers after that ask their question so that we all can try to solve every one's issue so here is the technique.

1)lay down comfortably and relax letting your mind daydream until you are fully relaxed.
2)look for hypnagogic imagery (t not necessarily means visuals it also includes sounds ,touch and smell etc)
3)now as you started having HI start your visualizations (feel your body exploring the adjacent room touch the door feel the bumps and touch the lock feel the working move your hands in walls and feel the paint try to feel how it looks like sit down pick something and roll in your hand try to feel them )
      4) at this point you should get hypnagogic scenes of what you are exploring and now literally feel your imaginary body and you will be teleported there in a lucid dream now do what you want .
(this is a technique i found at a video which i purchased online)

my question is when we visualize do we still see the hypnagogic imagery and how much time will it take to be in a lucid dream?

I'd say not to focus on HH/HI specially and don't wait for it, it can vary on whether you experience it or not and which type of it, WILD is just about falling asleep while keeping awareness and it is not a waiting game, waiting for something will more likely to keep one too awake. But other than that, in case you do experience HH this thread has some tips on how to possible use it for WILD entry: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ntry-wild.html
As for questions, for first one, HH varies from person to person and sometimes even from attempt to attempt, so it can vary how it interacts with visualization, as for the second question, time is irrelevant because WILD is not a waiting game and some level of time contraction or dilation is possible through NREM, so it's not something to be focusing on, but if you can't manage to fall asleep for an hour or something like that then you are most likely too awake, in that case try doing less activity and/or experiment with WBTB times.

chitrarth I used to try the same thing as you do, wait for the automatic teleportation into the dreamworld, and sure it have worked a few times.

But now later on I have realized that this kind of thinking limits your experience.

You don't need hypnagogic imagery in order to transition into a dream, you don't even need relaxation. Those are powerful tools and are mentioned in WILD tutorials for one main reason and that because they help you focus better. But in truth all you need is to direct your focus of awareness to the non-physical dreamworld and you will be there! Imagine now in your mind an apple, can you see it? Good then here is a newsflash to you. You were lucid dreaming!

"But it didn't felt real... and I didn't even close my eyes"

So? it's a non-physical experience and you were aware of it. This might be a new way for you to think of dreaming, but I am telling you when you think in these ways while WILDing the transition is much closer to you than you think! The reason to why it didn't felt real was because about 95 % of your awareness was in the physical waking world and 5 % or less was on the non-physical visualization. When you relax the focus of your awareness is easier to direct and hypnagogic imagery is just you being slightly more foused on the non-physical, like 30 % physical and 70 % non-physical. I can close my eyes right now focus on my breath and meditate and within 10 minutes start to hear non-physical things which would be defined as hypnagogic imagery.

This is important because now you should realize that the transition doesn't have to do with some waiting or time, it only depends on how long it takes for you to focus your awareness.

And remember when you WILD you only move your awareness, so don't even care about your physical body, it got nothing to do with the transition.
When you are close to a 100 % focus on the non-physical, you will no longer be aware of your body. Why? Well because your awareness isn't on the physical anymore.
When this happens you will on longer be able to move your physical body, but this isn't some sleep paralysation, this is just you being unaware of your body.

But my point is that when you lay down and try to focus on something non-physical you should act as if you already are in the dream, because guess what, you actually are! You are just not there with 100 % of your focus of awareness. So start the dream stabilization immediatelly, try to feel something, hear something, smell something, taste something, see something but with your non-physical senses. And when this is intense and solid, but you still kind of feel like you are laying in your bed, try this one simple trick.

Get up! If you are feeling strong non-physical sensations, there is a big chance that you are already transitoned, but are laying in a non-physical version of your bed.

So basically day dream, day dream, day dream and get up!

So to answer your questions. Visualize = Focusing your awareness on the non-physical which is to be dreaming, so always visualize!

And two WILDing isn't a waiting game it's a process of directing your focus.

Good luck and check out this thread for some more depth: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...s-daytime.html
