New to LD, tried Wild, need help

so i tried wild after about 3-4 hours of sleep. my brother woke me up, around 5am in the morning, and i figured this was a good opportunity to try WILD. shortly after laying on my back with hands by my side my whole body begin to feel "tingly" as i would like to call it.. and my eyes started fiickering and i kept swallowing. i felt so close to my first lucid dream but instead my eyes kept in voluntarily flickering an i kept swallowing because i felt someing in the back of my throat. needless to say i failed at the lucid dream attempt. it was the first time i have ever tried this and it was rediculously "reality warping" for me in the sense that after i had failed i could still see what appeared to me sublte color changes in reality, for example imagine everything is fine but there is like a layer like in photoshop over the original view and its speckled with different colors.

now that all of that has been said, how can i fix these problems?

is binaural beats a good way to help? ive used them before while awake meditating and it sort of puts my mind blank when i do it right

is there anything else that can help?

First of all, if you're new to lucid dreaming you shouldn't start out with WILD even if it might seem like the fastest method. Try DILD first.
If you really do want to go for a WILD though, go read Sageous' guides from his class. WILD

Why should I try DILD first? Is there a specific reason?

You should try whatever technique you want to try out. It may just be for you. A lot of beginners start with DILD because WILD takes a lot of self awareness which most people don't have, but I'd say try what you want, give it a shot, you can always change if need be.

You have to stop putting so much focus on your swallowing and moving eyes. Your eyes will move, they always do, it's natural! And if you need to swallow, swallow and it will leave your mind. If you try and stop yourself, it will end up being all you think about, which isn't good. Make sure you aim for sleep, not for "Sleep Paralysis". Have a read of this thread to clear up any confusion that you may or may not have.

As nicromno said, check out Sageous' WILD Class, it's a great resource!

starting with WILD may make you frustated and end up leaving lucid dreaming . 99% of the time it will not work .i think you should start with dields ,Filds as you are interested in going from waking state to dream directly .after having some experiance you will be able to do wilds easily. good luck

If you start with DILD, that will teach you all the mental work you should know before going into WILD. There is lot more to the WILD then just laying down in bed and waiting for something to happen.

Of course, choice is yours. If you do decide for a WILD, check out the classic tutorial (sageous) linked by realdealmagic. FILD is a forms of WILD and not recommended to start with without learning the basic, classic WILD first.
