      Spinning sensations

Hello all! I've been practicing different WILD techniques and today I had gotten farthest than I ever have, which isn't very far. Different colours started moving from the corner of my eye, taking over my vision (blue, green, purple and some yellow) and then my head felt like it was spinning! It was the oddest thing. I tried to ignore it but it was very hard. And then an image of a plane flew across my vision and it was very cartoony and black and it blended with the multiple colours. I pictured little white windows on the plane and saw myself in one as a stick-figure? And then my body felt like it was being moved by waves, being pushed down into my mattress. I'm not sure how to get back and are these feelings normal? What do you think happened? I can't seem to get back/by this point!

These are normal. It always happens to me when I use WILD. The colors and picture you see is your dream forming. Just stay calm and remember that there is nothing wrong and it is nothing scary going to happen. It will take time but if you practice it enough you will do it. Good luck and sweet dreams!

Yup, these sound like normal hypnagogic hallucinations (HH), the stuff that can happen between awake and dreaming - mostly dreaming by that point. HH can vary: at times it can be just visual, other times auditory, other times tectile; people report vibrations or spinning or whatnot. Personally I love HH! Even though I have only been successful at getting fully to WILD once or twice, but even this HH stage is fascinating and wonderful, even if it is then usually in my case followed by either falling asleep completely and loosing awareness or more often waking back up fully, but even then the HH is an interesting experience to be enjoyed in its own right I feel.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

Next time I will definitely try and stay more calm! Thank you so much!

This is so unfair. I'm yet to see Hypnogogic Imagery before I get my WILD, making the few I've had tedious and boring. The only thing I get is intense sounds and a sensation of falling through my bed or spinning.
Everyone here is being all deep and stuff, while I'm just here being normal with my dog photo...
