From Beginner to Beginner overlooked WILD issues.

      Lets begin...

When it comes to WILD there are many techniques and a lot of methods to utilize from experienced conscious explorers all over the planet but sometimes...the little problems can cause the biggest hindrance to your experience and beginners such as myself took time finding ways round them. So if you are looking for a WILD technique you're in the wrong place but I am here to offer tips on overcoming some of the problems which may arise for beginners and maybe even some of you pros My disclaimer is its personal experience and as people differ it may not be helpful in your case BUT no harm trying?

"I am too awake/too excited to WILD"

WILD is basically letting your body go to sleep and keeping the mind active/conscious. So really by technicality you still can induce a wild even if you where jacked up on caffeine. I struggle to sleep earlier than 2/3 am as I have a sleeping disorder however this has never stopped me WILDing at a conventional bed time. The biggest hindrance here is relaxing. If you're more awake you will struggle to calm the racing thoughts. So relax calm your body down ignore the thoughts think to yourself how cosy it is being in bed having to do nothing and be happy about that. The process is the same you can WILD I assure you the process is just longer.

"My nose gets blocked and my throat gets dry"

Well you may not all deal with this however I really struggled in the beginning...there may be a small draft which you end up breathing in which causes saliva build up..or you have a slight cold which makes it hard to breath... you get my point it can be a massive ANNOYANCE. First thing I recommend is take some water to bed and leave it close by if you decide to take a break then you can easily reach for it and clear your throat.

The next step I use is my breathing which decreases the problems quite effectively. So for the breathing what I do is first relax my self into the WILD and then with my mouth closed (not clamped together just softly shut) I lower my jaw then inhale through my nose slowly and exhale into my mouth. Not only does this help clear my nose is helps defend against saliva build up. Just a heads up once you get deep into the WILD and lose track of the physical most of these problems disappear completely.

"My eyes keep twitching after a while and one or both keep slightly opening"

This is definitely a big bad annoyance when it comes to WILDing. Seriously it can be so frustrating you've done it your almost there and BAMN! My right eye is slightly open oh look I CAN SEE THE NON-PHYSICAL oh wait its my damn eye opening. Now you may never be able to completely stop this I know something which helps dramatically. Sometimes while WILDing he put to much strain on either looking into the blackness or strain in general around out eyes.

Firstly make sure your eyes are relaxed if you feel the tiniest strain then relinquish it they need to be forgotten with the rest of your physical body you're using your Minds eye now.

Secondly when you're either noticing or just staring straight ahead simply DON'T move your damn eyes! they stay fixated on the same point if they start moving awareness that your physical eyes are there hinders it all.

"I just can't get my body too sleep"

Way to often we forget for some reason that our face is very much attached to our physical body. So you need to relax it the muscles in your face subtly tense up during WILD you need to make sure that they have properly relaxed. For example during your WILD you may start glaring causing strain on your brow and under the eyes or just above the cheeks if you find this happening slowly allow the muscles to relax and go back to their original position or maybe your nose is straining or just above your lip? then allow the muscles to slowly relax it could be the one step stopping your body properly falling asleep.

Another issue which can be related is focusing to much on not focusing on your body...by this I mean by trying to hard to ignore your physical body you remind yourself of it. I found by just letting it be during your WILD you lose track of it anyway so why make this process 110% more complicate ?

"I sleep in bed with a partner and they remind me of the physical too often"

Sharing a bed can be a huge obstacle I say obstacle instead of problem because to me it became a challenge I know its very much possible to be interrupted during WILD and still be successful. Its not a problem its a challenge at first when my partner would roll over or snore it would frustrate me and I would give up...now I see it as a barrier to overcome so I use this improve my focus instead of getting frustrated I have learned to utilize this to focus more deeply on relaxation. If you can ignore your physical body you can ignore someone else's it can be done never let your frustration hold you back.

      "I fall asleep during WILD"

If someone said this too me my first question is do you attempt WILD while waking up in the middle of the night or before bed? If you are attempting in the middle of the night then simply try before sleep. It will be easier to remain conscious

If you fall asleep while attempting WILD before bed then attempt it when you aren't tired for example the afternoon or attempt it sitting in a chair. Once you get your bearings you will be able to obtain the desired state before bed or in the middle of the night.

      Lets wrap this up...

I truly hope this is a good reference or help to some feed back is always welcome and appreciated even questions until then happy WILDing.
