Trying to WILD... Twitching keeps me awake - Suggestions?

I've been trying to WILD for over a month and a half with no luck, but I'm still trying. I've only had one very short, not very vivid, lucid dream before, but with college and everything I seem to only have time to try WILDing (unless you guys have other suggestions for easier methods to attain lucidity?). Anyways, so I've gotten kind of close to WILDing (or at least I think I have), but eventually I start twitching... like a lot. And they aren't just little twitches either. Sometimes my whole arm will just jolt around and move and it causes me to wake up. I can ignore the smaller twitches, but the larger ones always wake me up.

      Any suggestions?

Sometimes its all most impossible to stop twitches all together... however you need to make sure that your muscles are relaxed no tension what so ever... my issues where my eyes once I allowed them to relax the twitching did not persist. Make sure you are in a comfy position for example if you are on your back then try to place them somewhere they feel natural. Hope it helps good luck.

Hmm, I never realized that it could have been caused by the position I'm sleeping in. When WILDING I normally sleep on my back even though that isn't exactly a normal position that I usually sleep in. So, what you're saying is that I should just sleep in a position that I would normally sleep in?

Do you mean just doing a couple of stretches? What relaxation techniques do you use?

I really don't know why I'm trying to learn/master the hardest method of lucid dreaming, but it's a fun challenge... I'm getting closer and closer to successfully doing it, just gotta keep trying I guess.

WILDing requires for you to do WBTB. If you say WILD is the only method you have time for, I would say, you should try a DILD. For a WILD, you still need to be mentally prepared, same as for a DILD. But DILD doesn't require WBTB. All the RCs and mantras take up only few minutes of your time. Good luck

I'd say that you need to send yourself into a deeper relaxation, almost a meditative state, when attempting to WILD. As stated previously by Looke, you should try to get yourself into a more comfortable position, this doesn't necessarily mean you have to get into your sleeping position per se, just one that will allow for a nice amount of relaxation of muscles, so that you are limiting tension within your body. Also, relax your mind as well! If you're lying there boosting your brain activity trying to relax your muscles and get completely comfortable, your only being counter-productive.

Additionally, In regards to what Gab said, it's much easier to attain a WILD through a WBTB method as well, if you want the best, most easily obtained results. Though it is most definitely possible to achieve a lucid dream through WILDing without using WBTB. Furthermore, If you feel as though your results are lacking while your attempting and practising WILDing, I recommend switching it up a bit! WILD isn't the golden technique that works for everyone, everyone is different. Test out some other methods/techniques to attain lucidity, and see how it goes.
