      Instant WILD without sleeping first

Last night I didn't stay up very long. My body didn't feel tired at all, but I decided to go to sleep.

So I lay down in my bed, closed my eyes and didn't move. After a very short time, nearly instant, I began seeing a dark room with a bit of light on the ceiling, which was covered with numbers and signs.
In the middle I remember a orange to red kind of orb.
I started hearing a loud buzzing sound and felt waves of vibration through my whole body until finally I realized I was dreaming.
I can't quite remember the transition, but the loud noise and vibrations made me think of sleep paralysis and I was looking forward to my lucid dream.

I think this is really strange, because after reading hell of a lot about lucid dreaming, one thing gets clear: You can't WILD before sleeping and waking up during your rem period first.

But that's exactly what I did and I'm interested in hearing similar stories or explanations from you.

You actually can WILD when you first go to bed, the only thing is that it is usually much harder to do, and the dreams are usually short at that time of the night so it's just generally not recommended.

Good to know that's possible, but I was very astounded about the fact that it was that easy. Like I layed down, closed my eyes and there I was in my dream.
My other WILD attempts usually fail, because I'm very sleepy right after waking up and tend to forget doing WILD.
