      WILD and control

Now that I have had a handful of successful WILD experiences, I am curious what level of control and clarity is normal? When I do successfully WILD, I do have an awareness that I am dreaming and more control than normal lucid dreams, but it seems the control diminishes the longer the dream lasts, and I find I don't have as much control as I expected I would. Does that come with practice? And is it normal for the control and lucidity to decrease the longer the dream lasts?

Honestly, I can't answer as I have the same question as you but I can tell you I have had the same experience. It seems almost monotone and dull whenever I achieve lucidity in a WILD state, and its hard to keep going. We need to just keep trying! Dont get frustrated !

TheFragile, I have noticed both things--sometimes I have greater control in a WILD, but lose this as the dream continues. Other times, I have relatively little control at the beginning of a WILD, and don't manage to pick any up as the dream progresses! However, I would say your loss of control probably stems from a loss of awareness as the dream continues--especially if the dream is very long. We tend to forget little things, like that DC copies of waking life friends are not "real," or that we can't be hurt. I think the more you get used to expecting dream control to work--at least most of the time--the less dream control will revolve around the clarity of your awareness. Some of my best "dream control" dreams have been semi-lucids, so I do believe awareness is not necessarily the biggest factor there, but expectation.
