      First WILD

It happened on accident. I was feeling unwell yesterday so I went to bed around 8:00 then got up at 12:15 to tie up some loose ends from the day. Was back to sleep around 2:00, and woken up around 2:30 by my burglar alarm apparently running out of battery and beeping at me (that's never happened before so I thought someone was breaking into my home lol). Ripped the battery out to shut it up and was asleep again around 3:00. Then I had a nightmare in which I FAed and found that someone had indeed broken into my house. In my living room the couch was pushed against the door which I thought, "looks like it's supposed to keep someone out, but... since I didn't put it there, maybe it's supposed to keep me in?" then I heard some rattling in the closet and woke up while throwing the door open. That was hella creepy. Anyway, just to make myself feel better I got up and looked around for burglars, didn't see anything suspicious so got a drink and went back to bed about five minutes later.

So usually when I relax and zone out a bit I get a little bit sleep paralyzed while still awake. My hands and feet get tingly and difficult to move. I can do that at will and it makes me fall asleep faster. So I did it but soon realized it was taking longer than usual to fall asleep and my hands were number and tinglier than usual. Than I started seeing some closed eye visuals with green lights, and they started to speed past me like I'm in the Enterprise going to warp 10. Vibrations came soon after, and engine noises, I felt like I was flying somewhere very fast and thought, "OK I guess I'm attempting to WILD tonight." In the past I have gotten too excited by this point and woken up but that didn't happen this time. I slowed down and came to a rest, the vibrations stopped, and I saw nothing. I opened my eyes and I was in my room, but it was different, and I was in a dream.

Unfortunately my eyelids seemed to be stuck half closed blocking my vision and I couldn't pry them the rest of the way open. Trying to do so frustrated me to the point of waking myself up after just a minute or two. What I did see of the dream beneath my eyelashes didn't look any different from DILDs.

The reason why it didn't look any different from a DILD is because it is the same. A DILD and WILD both "lead" to the same thing which is a lucid dream. They're just different ways of getting lucid. Congrats on your first WILD
