Can a WBTB last a few hours???

This morning I woke about 4 hours after I fell asleep and for the life of me could not get back to sleep. My intention was not to do wbtb but I woke up anyway at that time. I could not remember any dreams, which is rare for me by the way. Anyway, I had to be at my job in 3.5 hours so I decided I should just do some stretching, take a nice long shower, eat a big breakfast and go to work. Well, the morning started out great until the big crash came 8 hours later. I lay my head down at my desk and started to feel fall asleep to the point where I could feel those hypnagogic jerks. Anyway, my phone rang and I couldn't continue to doze off. If I go home and hit the bed, will I go straight into REM? Can I still try WILDing?

You sure can. In fact, naps are great for WILD. I'm just not sure if the initial 4 hours sleep where enough. You might take a while to hit REM during the nap. If you plan on intentionaly repeating this, make sure you sleep for at least 5 hours, then continue your day (then do the nap of course lol)

I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

Thank you, this was a really helpful response. It actually answered a lot of other questions for me as well. Thanks LouaiB!
