      Specific issue with WILD

      Hello everyone,

I generally have no problem with WILDing, but lately, I got this (new) thing happening to me. When I notice that i am the "in-between" state, I usually let go and find myself in the "Noise" (and then diving into the dream), or directly in the dream with visual and tactile formation. But lately, in the last 10 days, I found myself 4 or 5 times in the in-between state (one time just after a DILD, and the other time trying to go to sleep consciously), without being able to go further. I have small noise for a few seconds and then, bam, I am back in my physical body. Like there is a barrier or something blocking me. Usually, I can become momentarily unconscious and notice when the Noise is happening, but these times, when I notice suddenly the Noise beginning, preparing myself to let go, but failing to do so. Is this happening because I am too awake ? Or not letting go enough ? Or because i am hitting NREM ? I don't know, that's why I am asking you guys. Does this happen to you ? I mean, this has happened to me before a few times, but after 4-5 times in a row, in a short period of time, i am getting concerned about what I am doing wrong... I am not panicking nor getting emotional, because I have done WILD several times now (near 50 successful ones), and getting used to the weird sensations. So, any guess ? Maybe I am focusing too much on the Noise itself (mostly on the tinnitus) ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

      Hey there,

Not sure if its the same thing, but for me, snapping back to wakefulness and not being able to pass that border into sleeping and dreaming is usually because my mindset is too much on 'WILD'ing and staying conscious' and not enough on 'falling asleep'. Getting close to sleeping and the sensations that bring will snap my consciousness to a more active state in anticipation of WILD'ing, thereby waking me up again, rather then letting me fall asleep.

      Just my 2 cents,

Thank you Redrivertears for your answer, the feeling you describe is pretty close to what I am experiencing. Too much focus on the WILD/technique/noise, not enough on falling asleep/letting go.. that might be it indeed. The trick seems to try staying in a somewhat neutral state, between passive and active, keeping balance. I'll work on that next time.

      Thanks again !
