Exclamation I'm too overeager... Help needed!

Hello from Goldenheart to the WILD people!

I am SO frickin CLOSE to being able to WILD. I have one problem: I am WAY to overeager. I will relax for five minutes or so... Then remember I'm WILDing and the feeling of how wonderful lucid dreaming is! I begin to breathe fast and my heart begins to pound in excitement. The quick breath counts as movement, and I utterly fail to enter the first stage of sleep.

For a while, I thought I was getting as far as feeling the 'wave' of sleep paralysis, but it turns out, it was just a wave of excitement. Well, at least I know it'll take a long time for me to lose enthusiasm for dreaming.

Please help me overcome my hyperactiveness. Any thoughts, mantras, tips, anything, to help me calm myself down.

      ~GH

Take a sedative and you will relax.... Kidding. Maybe there's those stress reliever pills. I take those when I feel stressed/overactive about lucid dreaming. But I think it will fade by itself as time goes by because you will realise being excited gets in the way so my advice is let it be excited...relax don't inhibit anything the mind will get used to your WILDing and loose the grip on it.

I know when I started I would get pretty over excited and not be able to sleep too, but that usually ended turning into a DILD when I actually did fall asleep.

Is this overeager feeling right when you go to be or in the middle of the night? If it is right at the beginning of the night it probably won't do you much good, but if you get up in the middle of the night and have it, then I would think it would do you well.

i know how you feel...its like when you were young and your trying to fall asleep on christmas eve.
i have this problem, but its less of a problem everytime i try wilding, however far i get, because the more times you do it the less excited you get....it will feel more normal.

it may not be what you want to hear, but keep doing your standard simple WILD technique and the more you attempt it, the easier it will be to stay calm.

      good luck

If its any help - I know this will make you cringe because you're obviously desperate to WILD - allow the idea of WILD to lose its silvery shine. Thats right, the idea of it will eventually seem less interesting as time goes on. This is an excellent thing for you, as much as it doesn't sound that way right now. That excitement and heart pounding you're getting right now is adrenaline, and adenaline is WILD's worst enemy. So all that is needed is time for it to lose its novelty and for you to get familiar with it so the adrenaline stops pumping out every time you start to get somewhere.

By all means, keep trying. You just need to get used to all the feelings, and the idea in general. I had the same thing happen to me...

Now the only thing holding me back from WILD is people interrupting me when they see my eyelids fluttering!
