Why is it so hard before going to sleep ?

I'm trying to have a WILD for a week. I'm doing it just before bed or when I'm having a nap.But I can only get my body to feel numb and I'm getting some hypnagogic hallucinations.
Twice I had experienced something that was unusual. The first time I started to visualize an endless white room (my hypnagogic hallucinations are starting like red spheres and then they turn out to be pure white light so it is easy to imagine something white),after some time I started seeing a drop of liquid changing forms in mid air, but I was so aware of my body in my bed and my bedroom that it was so strange to be a dream. Was it?
The second time my hands went totally numb and when I try to push them down it feels like they are going through the mattress.Once my hand was touching the wall near my bed and when I was trying to push that way it felt like the wall was made from and elastic material that was vibrating.Has anyone else tried this?
The first time I was trying to have a WILD in the morning (after having a 7-8 hours a sleep ) I did it right away.I've switched to another bed , laid in the posture I've found my body to be after I've woken up previously , and after some time I started to imagine what was I going to do in my dream.Driving cars was the idea and I started to imagine all sorts of cars.I was going from car to car looking for a good one , and then it hit to me man I can drive the GT500 and there it was in an auto salon behind the glass.Up until now it was all cartoon like imaginary but in the moment I went trough the salon front door I was in a lucid dream as vivid as a real life.
So why is it so hard to do this during a nap or before going to bed ? Has anyone did a WILD late at night before going to bed ? What am I doing wrong ?

You can do this during a nap,
The idea is that you reenter sleep during the dream cycle.
That part of sleep isn't at the beginning, so I dont think you can wild when you go to bed at night, I think you have to wake up half way through.

It's not impossible to WILD during NREM sleep but it's a hell of a lot harder than doing a WBTB and then DEILD or WILD after you've been asleep for 5 or 6 hours.

I've heard it's hard before bed because your mind is so awake and REM usually doesn't happen until 3or so hrs after you fall asleep

I did a WILD today and it was after lunch and I was a little tired. Try doing that for a nap. I did it on the couch

Someone on this site mentioned that he has a seperate room that he WILD's in. I think that if you go on your bed in your room, your mind will think that it's bed time and you'll konk out, but if you're in a totally different room, then your mind won't think it's time for bed so your mind will me more awake when you sleep (but you trick your body that you ARE sleeping), so you'll be more concious when you enter the dream... ?

Yeah i think that's right because now i do all my wilds on my couch instead of my bedroom, i even sleep better and have more dreams on my coach, lucid and non lucid.

      I think it's a mental thing

If you go into your room to lay on your bed, mentally, your mind will be thinking it's bed time

If you have a completely separate place where you nap to LD, your mind will be in an LD state of mind subconciously, which could increace the chances of having an LD
