      Sleep paralysis and sudden silence

I am interested in hearing if this is only me...
When I WILD, I lie in bed, count, etc, and start to hear music. The music and other sounds are at first obviously my own doing, but after a while I begin to confuse them with real life sounds! They get more and more intense.

But I've noticed that suddenly, right before I get the 'vibrations' and Sleep Paralysis, they stop. Does anyone else get this? I feel like this is the real end of hypnogogia and when you ACTUALLY go to sleep, because your body no longer feels a need to entertain your conscious mind...?
Tell me your thoughts on this. I am very confused.

Maybe you focused to much on the SP sensation. at this point you should put all your effort on vizualisation and tell your self i'm dreaming! cuz i'll only tryed this technique once but i wasn't in a REM cycle so i just fall asleep after visualized what i wanted to dreamed about it work better during a nap in the afternoon or mixed with a WBTB ^^ keep working on and good luck

I hear sounds when I do that too... sometimes I hear... voices. Well, usually just words that aren't really coherent. I've heard music too, but it's normally only like one or two notes at random.

I have no idea if this is normal or not.

I have had the same experience. I also often hear things while i'm falling asleep.. mostly music. sometimes i hear voices or random noises too but the interesting thing is the silence that comes after. When the silence happens i also see a visual change. where before i was staring at my eyelids, a dark brown black... as the sound cuts out my vision is filled with a much more intense almost 3d blackness. Its kind of like floating in space all of a sudden haha. Is it similar for you?

This is still surferonmars, I have a new handle now! Getting sick of the old one...
and yes, there is a change in the blackness for me. The interesting thing is that I don't get any of that if I am visualizing in any way. Huh.

it is a different state of conciousness to visualisation.. an imbetween place of emptyness. you might find that if you try to visualise while in this state you can easily enter a very vivid lucid dream.

I've even heard the intro of Fade to Black in the sleep paralysis.

Usually for me, that silence is the sign to roll out and begin the WILD.

That's cool and thanks! I'm not sure if that's the place to enter a dream as I usually feel like I am still awake, but I will definitely try from there.
