    1. 18-09-17 Flying Over Town, Walking 2006, Mom's Weird House

      by , 09-24-2018 at 06:34 PM
I was flying over my hometown towards my mom's place (not where she lives in real life). I had only just discovered how to fly and was trying to figure out how to navigate. I just followed the streets. I have the layout of the town memorized. I vaguely realized it wasn't real, as at some point I lost control of the dream and the world vanished, leaving my vision black. I focused really hard to make it come back.

I was walking the street where I used to live as a kid. I think it was 2006. While walking, I was fiddling around with this old camera we used to have. One of the early digital cameras. A voice told me 'they used to take pictures differently back then'. I could hear the 'Heroes' soundtrack in the background.

I stayed at my mom's place, but it was a truly bizarre place. It looked like a small ancient temple, maybe Mayan, in a garden that looked more like a jungle. The 'temple' was adorned all around with glyphs that somehow lit up.

I was in a space consisting of three rooms separated by open doorways without doors. There was a guy who turned out to be a firefighter. He knew André, a guy who trained me at my job. I was amazed by the coincidence. Suddenly I had this epiphany that 'everything was connected'. The 'Touch' soundtrack started playing.
    2. 18-01-13 Terrorist Attack on Empire State Building

      by , 01-26-2018 at 04:14 PM
I saw the Guild Wars inventory of a female elementalist, and noticed three sets of leggings for every build (water, earth and air magic).

The dream started off with one of those giant robots from Wolfenstein attacking me. I tried to shoot it. Another vehicle, a mobile missile launcher, fired a slow-moving guided missile at me. I hid behind a beam. The missile missed and just fell onto the ground. After a while it exploded. Then it turns out we're actually on some kind of terrace high up the Empire State Building. It was way bigger than it is in real life. Like, big enough for mobile missiles launchers to drive around. I somehow knew that terrace was commonly used by couples to get married. Odd, but alright. Anyway, the explosion caused the entire top of the State Building to fall off. It was horrifying, like 9-11 all over again. I was pretty sure I was fucked, but then Peter Petrelli flew in out of nowhere and carried me and/or his brother to safety. Back on the ground, I was still reeling from watching presumably thousands of people die, and almost kicking the bucket myself. We were in an alley, and Gabriel Gray (also known as Sylar) was there too. I was immensely grateful to Peter, but for some reason he blamed the whole incident on Gabriel. I tried to convince Pete that Gabriel was still the good guy, but he called me naive and left. I decided to stick with Gabriel, as I believed he had a way of fixing this mess.

Suddenly, I 'gain consciousness' standing in a kind of garden behind my old school. I'm wearing a kind of white robe? There were tons of people there, old students and teachers. Barra approaches, visibly shocked at my presence. He asked what I was doing there. I told him I had no idea how I got there. He said I was sitting at a bench scribbling Koran stuff (or gibberish, anyway) in a trance. I asked if there'd been another terrorist attack on NYC (the State Building), which he confirmed. The dream's soundtrack was a non-existent track called "Silence in the Sky".
    3. 18-01-XX Flying Shenanigans (Waterfall), Computer Simulation

      by , 01-21-2018 at 06:06 PM
I was flying over a city surrounded by water. I think my brother was there too, flying an airship. We were kind of playing around. I tried to bring down enemies by manipulating the ocean water below me and pulling them out of the air, or by pushing them away with TK. Sadly, none of these powers worked. My notes say Yoda was somehow involved, too. At some point I flew low over the city, and ran sideways across a fence (an impossible wall run). Someone on the street saw me. All of this was accompanied by a loud Eurobeat soundtrack. At some point, people and buildings become huge (or I became tiny) and I had to start flying really, really high for some reason. Samuel L. Jackson?

In a second dream, I flew along a coastline. But I felt strangely out of control. Spinning around my axis while I kept going in the same direction. An older person on shore noticed me.

I flew towards another city. This one had a very specific 'feel' to it. It was near a big waterfall like the Niagara falls. I (of course) felt the need to fly through the waterfall at full speed. The soundtrack of this dream was 'Long Tall Sally' by Little Richard. I landed somewhere on the riverbank (sloped, open piece of land) and helped rescue a black kitty together with some other guys. Carrying bottles of compressed air? The entire time, I felt like I was controlling the plot.

I was on a train. I looked out of window, and everything looks really weird. Everything was 'blocky' and in black and white. I thought this was evidence I was inside a computer simulation (rather than a dream). I was studying the environment because I was convinced there were patterns that were trying to tell me something. A sign, or something. The other characters on the train were very annoying, though. I hit one of them, and he vanished. I felt guilty because I hurt one of the simulations, and I felt like I wasn't supposed to do that. Like, my anger would make me fail the challenge. Later on, I had to solve puzzles. I moved through a shopping area inside a train station. I fantasized about blowing everything up if the DCs kept annoying me. At the end of the dream, I sat on a ledge of sorts, and threw something down to the DCs. We were solving a puzzle together?
    4. 17-11-19 Polluted River, Sinking Submarine, DX Post-Apocalypse

      by , 12-21-2017 at 12:31 PM
I was jogging next to a heavily polluted river. The industrial dockyard buildings on the shore all looked abandoned and rusty. There was a lady in water, and I was arguing with her. I think she used magic to curse me. Someone told me not to argue with her for that exact reason. Notes say "meet at bar, cat", no idea what that refers to. I guess I met the woman again in that bar? Anyway, I had to collect something for the witch, from an old boat wreck in the river.

I was on board of a submarine. I was dating the daughter of some bigshot captain of the Navy. I saluted him. He was Liam Neeson. I think I was tasked with either capturing or killing him. Eventually, I scuttled the sub. He escaped. I swam after him (I was still on board and the sub was already at the bottom of the river) to chase him to the surface. I got scared as I didn't want to drown and I knew he could be waiting for me.

In another scene, the man I was targeting (still the same guy?) was in a general store. He could turn invisible. I couldn't see him, but I just wildly swung a baseball bat around until I got him. Another other guy helped too.

I returned to HQ, a large abandoned warehouse in the same docks as the first dream. I was weary, dirty and weakened from hunger. The atmosphere was very grim and frankly, post-apocalyptic. Some guy was mad at me for what I did (to the invisible captain guy?). Used too much force, I guess. Someone called the captain guy "dad"? I reported to our "boss", some GTA IV Jacob dude. He told me about my next mission involving "ARC" and terrorists. Before leaving, I told the angry dude ARC is struggling with terrorists and needed help. A newspaper article I found speaks of ruptured gas pipes threatening to explode? Before leaving for the next mission, I resolved to take a good shower, eat something and get some sleep. This entire dream had the soundtrack of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, specifically the ambient tracks that play in Prague. ARC is an "augmented rights organization" labeled as "terrorists" by the government. The last part of the dream did fit the atmosphere of Deus Ex a bit.

Last note of the night reads "SHOPPING FOR CROISSANTS" in all caps. Not sure why.
    5. 17-11-17 Once in a Lifetime, Chasing Galactica in Speedboat

      by , 12-21-2017 at 11:56 AM
I vaguely recall a few scenes set in a supermarket? Later, I suddenly find myself in an NYC sewer. I don't remember how I got there. I went up and looked outside, expecting to see my own country (obviously), but nope: US license plates and obvious NYC buildings. I remember I lost my shoes and socks? Once outside on the streets, I needed to find my way to LaGuardia or JFK to get home. Waiting at a traffic light, an almost naked girl tried stealing from my backpack. I caught her and told her not to do it. She got on a private jet with her dad, and I casually joined them. Turns out she was Dutch. I said "so am I!", except I'm Belgian. We had to 'crawl' through some kind of tunnel made of fabric to the cockpit (??). It was extremely claustrophobic. Then I saw there were only two seats, so I told them I had to get off. Someone reminded me I had to visit an orphanage on the 25th and that's why I was in NYC. It's possible the whole orphanage thing was mentioned in the supermarket bit before this dream. I woke up from this dream with the song "Once in a Lifetime" by The Talking Heads in my head, so I guess that was the dream's soundtrack.

The Battlestar Galactica had landed on a river, ready to take off. The river was in the middle of a major city. Much like NYC, now that I think of it. I had to chase Galactica down from the ocean on a speedboat, through the very narrow river/channel. I made a sharp turn when I reached it, and kind of smacked into it, rocking the Battlestar. Adama was furious, and they opened fire on us (there was someone else on my boat). That made a lot of holes in the hull (of Galactica?). The holes 'healed' and the audience cheered as they saw it happened (so basically I'm inside a TV-show that's being watched). We got on board once they understood we were friendlies, and strapped in for takeoff. Some dude next to me got a bit too touchy-feely. Guess he was gay? Anyway, we were eating potato chips as we took off. Adama was seated to my left, the other dude to my right.
    6. 17-10-19 Sweden School Escape, Left on Island by Gaff, Flying From Gym to Zeebrugge

      by , 10-22-2017 at 02:52 AM
I was in a classroom in northern Sweden. A few more people (all adults) were there with me. They had locked us up for being residents of a hostile nation. They started unlocking the door, and I knew they'll execute us all. I told the others to get ready to fight, and went to the door to open it as soon as it was unlocked. I felt like we were all going to die. The situation was so desperate, we might as well put up a fight. I opened the door, and the others rushed outside. We fought, and most of us were shot dead on the spot or otherwise killed or restrained (to be shot later). I was retrained as well, by a man I remembered from a previous job (in real life), a Dutchman called Michel. I practically begged him to let me go, and much to my surprise he did (out of view of the others). Grateful for the favor of my former colleague, I made my way out of the building, across the courtyard of the school, toward the large gate. It was snowing. When I got to the gate, the police arrived. If they found out I was with the other prisoners, they'd arrest me and I'd get killed after all. I pretended everything was normal and I was just going home after a day at work. It worked, and I got past them, onto the streets. It was very cold, snowing heavily, and it was very dark and gloomy even though it was midday. I was wearing my old Sergio Tacchini coat, something I used to wear when I went to high school myself (graduated 2008). I briefly thought to myself it's no surprise Scandinavian people got so depressed living there, with all the gloominess. I could hear the soundtrack of the dream in the background, a very fitting tune my subconscious made up on the spot. As I started waking up, I wondered how to proceed from there. I had to get out of Sweden somehow, and head south.

I was left behind on a tiny island (just 30 feet across, maybe) by a villain - Gaff from Blade Runner. The island was in a very (extremely) wide river, relatively close to the southern shore. There was a lot of fog, and a chill in the air. Gaff could fly, and he flew off towards an extremely large (width and height) skyscraper on the opposite shore, basically Wallace HQ from Blade Runner 2049. The building was so tall, I thought to myself that even if I could fly, I'd be too scared of heights to go there. Suddenly I was with another person on the island. Gaff. And he was a friend suddenly, also left behind on that island. And I could fly. He held onto me (on my back) and I had to fly us to the shore. But he was so damn heavy! I don't know if I managed to keep from plunging into the water. I knew one thing: we had to destroy that building.

I was in a large open room, maybe a gym. I could fly, and realized doing circus tricks would indeed be a good way to make money and get famous. I did some tricks for an audience, like backflips and stuff. Some guy suspected I was on an invisible support, or hanging by a thread, so I invited him to come and feel. They remained unconvinced (I could feel a wire suddenly, as if I *really* was hanging from a wire, except I wasn't). I got really furious at the guy (not really, I think I was just acting and wanted to do a good villain speech to terrify the DC's). I cut the scene to the next one, somehow, as this is what would happen in movies (I could be director and character of my dream at the same time). It was night now, and I exited the gym through the back exit. I saw the people who were watching earlier at their cars, ready to leave. They were talking some more. I looked at one of them with some regret for my earlier behavior, then flew away. Higher, higher and then away over the city. It was day all of a sudden, and I didn't notice this transition. I was now aware I was dreaming, but it wasn't a sudden "!!!" moment, but more as if I'd known all along (I did not). I had to dodge some kind of windmill on a rooftop, and I think the blade hit me (I felt it). No injuries, though. I flew along the coastline now, approaching the harbor of what looked like Zeebrugge (Belgium). The waters were fierce and I could see a large cargo ship smashing violently into the waves. I wanted to fly home, to Brasschaat where I live. I realized that was far, but trying to teleport was too hard (dream felt real) and too risky (to avoid waking up). Just a moment later, the image froze and I lost the dream. I knew I could maybe "restart" the dream but that would take too much effort so I opened my eyes.
    7. 16-09-13 Post Apocalypse

      by , 09-14-2016 at 12:21 AM
I had a LOT of dreams this morning. Too many to count or remember. Most of them were fairly action-y. The only one I remember is the last one:

I was a group of others in a post-apocalyptic world. Not sure what happened, but everything looked quite barren outside, and abandoned. I said to a guy that I was going with two girls who were leaving for some other location quite far away. Which was supposedly safer (or was it?). The guy suspected (and he was half right) that the reason I was going with them was because they were quite attractive. I'm such a creep, right? But whatever, their plan was sound so I figured tagging along made perfect sense. I think I took along my AR and possibly some other weapons. I think I very vaguely recall flashes from the actual journey.

The dream had a soundtrack. It was moody yet beautiful, fitting the scene perfectly. It played when I looked at the view around me. I remembered it when I woke up, but forgot it since. If only I was a composer!

    8. Dreams Have Soundtracks

      by , 08-08-2016 at 03:23 AM
This is something I've noticed in the past few weeks: my dreams have soundtracks. It only appears to happen when it's the last dream before waking. This could of course still mean *all* dreams have soundtracks but I only remember the last one. The music fits the mood of the scene perfectly, and it is unique - not a song I've heard before. It's entirely composed by my subconscious. A contemplative, hopeful ambient tune when I fell in love. Fast, heavy tunes during dramatic scenes. At one point, I even heard a complete song from Depeche Mode that didn't actually exist!
