Canis!!! So happy to see you! How have things been?

Double perception is when you are able to perceive with both your dream body and your real body while in the dream.

Congratulations on a great night of dreaming, Nyx! Still doing it! Congratulations on the lucidity and your incredible recall!

Ooh, what is double perception?? Is this something you've tried before?

Awesome! I love the whole setup to this dream. Im glad you're back in action. Im really enjoying these email notifications rolling lately. I really need the inspiration so thanks!
Xanous! Great to see you too!

I've found for myself that the only way not to get swiped away by the distractions of everyday life and endless work is to pop up here as much as possible. Been trying to get back on that old track, so it's always good to see familiar faces as well as learn from new guys here.

Heh, Metallica, eh? So which song was it? Was it Ride the Lightning? Master of Puppets? Or maybe Battery?

Interestingly enough, my DCs came up with a completely new Metallica song called "War" and knew the lyrics too! I wonder whether they will come up with a title like this one day.

Master of Puppets would make for a great ld performance, need to try that out. Already had Enter Sandman in non-ld, lucid and live - can never get enough of it.

Awesome weather control in that 2nd dream, Nyx! I pictured even the feel of the room changing from a cozy winter cabin into feeling like it's spring outside.

I liked the part where you blew the clouds away and as a bonus got extra light in your scene! It's never occurred to me to try that out, but it seems like a really intuitive idea now that I think about it.

Congratulations on the LDs and an on Task of the Month!

I recently had another nld were I was walking barefoot on these warm cobblestones in an unknown southern location on a sunny afternoon.
That sounds so wonderful! Besides the beauty of such a scene/sensation, I could also use that right now on my cold toes!

Hey fogelbise! Yes, sunny dreams and real life days are so enjoyable. I recently had another nld were I was walking barefoot on these warm cobblestones in an unknown southern location on a sunny afternoon. One can never get enough of these!

As for the song, it was made up by my subcon. Interestingly enough it was alluding to one of my dream goals - summon a dream character from the Chinese series "Journey of Flower".

Congrats! I love bright sunny day lucids. I find myself marveling in my dreams (lucids, semis and non-lucids) lately, like I have been doing in waking for a little while now (thanks to lucid dreaming). And I see you got another bright sunny day in the FA with music! Is the song online anywhere?

So many crazy things in this dream! You should try to dream with those characters again, who knows, maybe they have something to teach you

Ahh, you should have posted anyways. I think it's helpful for the mind to go over those lucid and close to lucidity moments. It can bring more lds later on!
Good point. I didn't even write it down. I've been really lazy on the non lucid DJ lately. It just gets hard to wake up enough to record anything. Got to work on that. I actually have a whole lucid that I never posted from a few weeks ago. The memory is faded now.

Hmm, in a way I can relate it to our mind being conditioned to constantly follow some storyline whether awake or asleep. If you think about it, there's always something going on, whether it's at work, during games, tv, dreams, your mind constantly looks for a plot to follow. And those distracting DCs are a manifestation of that.
Makes sense to me. It's usually a good sign that I'm close and it sometimes leads into one of those in-dream-WILDs.

If only we could get into the habit to pause every once in a while and have this moment's pause transfer to dreams...
Ah yes. Mindfulness. I was getting fairly decent at that at one time. Those daytime practices really help!

Hey, Nixy! It's been a minute. Good to see you got some lucidity. Congrats!!! I have been struggling so hard lately; I had lucid moment this morning but nothing to bother posting.

I notice this interrupting DC scenario you had quite a bit in my dreams when I try to get lucid. I wonder if that's common in a lot of people and where it comes from. Maybe it's just the struggle that manifests?

And the flying... Do you think that it gets difficult because maybe we aren't used to such things? Again I have very similar problems. I'm glad I'm not alone in this haha.
Yes, I think so. The switch from walking to flying seems more difficult these days. And yes, while we may have flown in a lot of dreams, it's not like we properly learned how to fly or get everyday practice.

Thanks ( Patience108 strongly eyeballs NyxCC as she leaves her comment and asks her self " am I dreaming?"

Hey Patience! Yes, there is something in the way DCs look at you, isn't there?

I think it is absolutely possible to use this to trigger lucidity on a frequent basis. The best way to practice is to be more aware when talking to and meeting people irl. It's one of the things I wanted to make a habit of, but am still not quite there - so many distractions - usually the topic of the conversation involves you too much to be as aware as one needs to be. But if we make it a habit to be a bit more mindful when speaking or looking at others, there will be spillover effects for dreams too.

Hey That thing about DC's looking at you straight in the eye triggered a few dream memories - I have had that a handful of times now some of the times I became Aware I am dreaming and other times it was one of those intense eyeballing experience I wake up with - like feeling the eyes of the DC drilling into me - funny hay ... I was thinking of a way to use it as a dream sign to somehow trigger dream awareness etc - have you ever worked on that?

It was an absolute fiasco as I couldn't even understand what I was mumbling in this half-asleep state.
LOL @ "absolute fiasco". Don't feel bad; my post-lucid singing was at least "mostly a fiasco".

It did help me remember what the actual original badass LD version sounded like! (Mostly.) I've given up trying to replicate my LD musical feats in waking life, so it did all I could ask it to do.

That is a great idea! How haven't I thought of doing this? I guess rushing out of bed is to blame.

Lol about the morning performances. Actually, I remember I was trying to audio journal a few months ago, especially for the midnight natural wakes rather than the final wake. It was an absolute fiasco as I couldn't even understand what I was mumbling in this half-asleep state. But hopefully after an ld humming into the tablet would be much easier, right?
