      Advice needed to remember dreams

Hello all, I hope some of you here can help me out.

I've started keeping a dream journal again a couple of weeks ago, using a voice activated dictation machine to get down what I remember of the dream as I wake up with the microphone clipped to the pillow so I don't have to root about for anything and run the danger of losing what I remember.
I have had a couple of detailed dreams but lately I've been waking up with only a few images that fade fast, the impression that there was a lot of interesting events that I can no longer remember and no matter how I try I can't get anything back.

Hope there is someone out there who can help me

      All the best

      Chris

There are a couple things that can help , people say eating certain food such as bananas help with dream recall, or vitamins like B6. You can read more about stuff like this in the Lucid Aids forum. (Lucid Aids)

But if you want to get back naturally then just keep writing down what you can when you wake up. Like anything its something that takes practice, you should start to remember more the longer you do it (This is how it was for me).

I think that microphone attached to the pillow is a really interesting idea, sounds like it should help remember dreams, it was always a struggle for me to wake up and start writing stuff down.

If you're not already, transcribe your recorded dreams into a dream journal. I think the act of actually writing things down helps with memory. If you were used to better recall, there could be personal matters affecting your recall which could pass, or you could just be experiencing a dry spell in recall. I've gone from remembering 3-5 vivid dreams a night, down to 0-3, back up to my "normal" amount many times. It varies often.

Thankyou both for your advice, very helpful.
If I percevere hopefully things should go back to normal. I think the frustrating thing is that I wake up knowing that I've had a great dream but only having a vague impression of what it was about and even that quickly fades.

      All the best.
