      Marijuana and Alcohol?

So. I don't know much about how marijuana and alcohol affects dreaming. Except for the fact that they make dreaming completey vague and often hard to remember (Atleast I know marijuana does that.). Lastnight I was under the influence of both. I was smoking and drinking rum in my room with a friend. She left around 11:00 pm and by then I was feeling fuckin great (The usual side effect of drinking half a fifth of hard liquor). But I was a little tired from the multiple bowls I had just smoked. So not long after she left I laid down to fall asleep. The weird thing is that usually when im drunk (just drunk no other drug) I have a hard time falling asleep and never remember my dreams. My friends and many people I know can just pass the fuck out when they're even remotely drunk. But anyways, for me when its mixed with bud its the perfect sleeping aid . So I tossed and turned until i fell asleep around midnight. Overnight I would have a dream, then wake up for around 5 minutes then fall back asleep. This happened multiple times. One of the first ones was a lucid dream! I just all of a suddened noticed I was dreaming and it lasted for around 4-6minutes. It was extremely vivid too! When I woke up this morning i had succsefully remembered 5 seperate dreams. Very much related to eachother though, its as if my brain could only produce a few different concepts for these dreams. Only limited to the things I briefly thought about before i completely passed out. So then my theory is that maybe these substances only limit the complexity and relativity of our dreams not the vividness or memory of them. Maybe its just me. What do you guys think??

      P.S.
This happened the other week too when I was on both of these substances. This time and that time were the only two times. So maybe my brains dream recall is getting so good that now that it can remember dreams even when stunted by other substances? Which i highly doubt because I'm still a rookie to lucid dreaming (Only been lucid dreaming for like 4 months.) So what's your theory?

I'm overly convinced that neither one helps Dreaming. I smoke every day and I've noticed that as long as I haven't taken a hit for a couple hours before bed, I Dream ok but no Lucids. Anything closer to bedtime and I feel like I didn't Dream at all. Same thing with alcohol. If I get a comfortable buzz going and pass out, I'm awake before I realize wtf is goin on. Again, no Dreams it would seem.

The last time I stopped smoking temporarily gave a boost to my Dreams greatly. I was remembering roughly 5 separate Dreams a night. I had 3 Lucids within the first two weeks. Unfortunately, I started smoking again soon after and my Dreaming stats took a nosedive.
Maybe for you, the effects of both substances together cancel the effects they have toward Dreaming.
I think I'll try that tonight...
      I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
      Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

Ya go ahead and try and lemme know what the results are. Might depend on how much of each substance you use. Maybe there's a ratio involved. But ya before this happened I was also extremely convinced that they both give you no chance of lucid dreams at all the same night
