Hi, I wrote this as my bio on my profile but I thought I'd post it in the intro zone as well, since I haven't been active on the forums yet.
I was lucky enough to have a lucid dream by chance in 2010. In this dream, as I flew over the place where I grew up, I was absolutely astounded by my ability to create this familiar landscape from a perspective I have never seen before. My senses were heightened in a way I'd never experienced in waking life and it felt hyper-realistic. I was left in awe of this experience but I still had no idea that you could learn to induce lucid dreams.
The following year, when I met ~Dreamer~, she offered to teach me how to lucid dream and I jumped at the opportunity to learn more. I started keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks, and within a month I was getting results. Since then, my enthusiasm and dedication has fluctuated, but I continue to have lucid dreams occasionally.
I've always considered dreams to be a personal experience, so haven't been inclined to join DV and share them online, but have recently had a change of heart and realised that it could be beneficial, and won't do me any harm. I also didn't take long to realise how many interesting forum topics there are to read, and so much to learn about dreaming from others' experiences. Hopefully by joining DV, I will make dreaming a bigger part of my life. Paying more attention to dream related topics in waking life, I hope to improve my dream awareness, abilities and recall.
I have been a filmmaker and stop-motion animator for the past 15 years, since I was in primary school. I also have a keen interest in pioneering new camera techniques and in-camera visual effects. I'm lucky enough to currently be working on a project where I get to experiment with light painting, motion control time-lapse photography and 3d stereoscopic cinematography.
I enjoy watching documentaries and learning about a wide range of subjects, from spiritual, meta-physical and psychological topics, to global issues, politics and conspiracies. I'm open to discussion about pretty much anything, and try to keep an open mind. Lucid dreaming has helped teach me that life, and "reality", usually isn't what we think it is.
I'm passionate about a few things: nature and environmental conservation, health and wellbeing, human evolution and enhancement, animal rights, experimental cinematography, travelling and basketball. If you're interested in any of these things, I'd love to get to know you!
