Became lucid during a false awakening.

i became aware while walking into my room that i was having a false awakening and i became lucid. i jumped out the window but all i saw after that was a blue(ish) and white(ish) air. there was no ground and i was flying. what is the cause for this lack of environment when i jumped out?

      welcome to the new forums.

It's good to know what's going to be outside before you jump out. You can try visualizing what will be outside the window during the day, and if you have a lucid, it'll make it easier to imagine. Expectations are everything. It's hard to open a door without thinking about what will be behind it; you might just get a blank void.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Dreams can create some incredible mind scapes, but for some reason, when we're lucid, we need to give our brains a little creative nudge...

If you find something like this happening again, you could always try spinning, with a thought in mind of where you'd like to end up

Also, moving to Lucid Experiences, since this is about a dream specifically
