Critique my latest artwork plz?? :3

So I follow this technique suggested by bluefley which says I should first start with lineart until I'm really good at it, then move to greyscale and do the same, then move to coloring.

I've been doing this, practicing mostly lineart, composition, figure drawing (proportions), perspective. But I can't wait till I reach the coloring level, and I haven't reached greyscale yet!

So what I usually do is either photo manipulation or getting a black and white pic and coloring it myself.

So I just finished my latest painting from a b&w image.

I basically sent the screenshot of the original art into Photoshop touch (I don't have a PC D: ) and changed it to b&w. Then I proceeded with coloring. I'm hoping I can get some crits.

      Here it is:

And here's another version of it I did afterwards bcz I felt it needed to be lighter:

I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

Okay, I'll critique it, but take my word lightly.

I think that the latter of the two (the lighter one) does look better. You were smart to go lighter on the blues, though in both pictures the skin tone looks like it has a bit too much gray in my opinion. It's good to see that you didn't make the rookie mistake of making the knife perfectly gray but rather made it blue like the rest of the picture, as if the blade is reflective. (I really like that knife blade in fact, so good job there.)

I think something about the color of the eye looks a little off. It just has a bit too much full on green. If I were you, I would maybe add a little bit of yellow to make a yellowish green or a brown for a tad bit of hazel, or even a bit of blue. That kind of sea green, this sort of color tends to come out well for eyes.

Though I would really like to see something more than just a coloring page. Even if you are incrementally studying lineart to grayscale to full color artwork, that doesn't mean you can't run through all the steps a couple times along the way just to see how your are improving.

      Thank you jade!

Yeah the skin is too pale. I had to disaturate it because it was more of a mustardy color which didn't look so good saturated, but that was a stupid idea. I should have gone with maybe a pinkish or reddish skin tone which would be fine, it wouldn't really kill my colors, since skin tone here is very light.

Yeah I had to choose between like 6 ways of coloring the hair, involving a purple style and even a green seaweed style!

Also the eyes, I had them hazel color at first lol, but I chose green later when I changed the hair color.
I intentionally made the green strong bcz her eyes are the main focal point and I wanna make them pop, but I'll check if sea green works better.

Oh, here's a flow chart to show you the original pic, it in black and white, and what I did:

Anyways I'm really appreciating your help!

I'll fix it and post the new version.
