Thread: redisreddish's poetry-type things

Thank you! <3 I think that's one of my better things, because I actually had some inspiration behind it. Most everything else was just written because I wanted to write something.

Okay, so it was quite a while ago that I said some friends and I had started a band. But we didn't, mainly because we only had a saxophone and a clarinet. But I did write a few songs. This is the only one that I really like, though. As the name would suggest, every line in this song is a personal joke.

The Personal Joke Song

We can save the elephant, and a million other things
Ask if they clean cats every time the telephone rings
Be a poison pointer and brush our curly locks
Comfort poor old Skip, who beheld the funny box

We could spur our moment, or eat razzleberry pie
The arachnids in our craniums really need to die
If we make one bubble, we can make a million more
And hope our prejudice in a bag won’t spill out on the floor

~(Chorus) We’ll fight back all those zombie sheep
We’ll give you a green spleen
We’ll catch some rabid tadpoles
If you know what we mean

We’ll psychiatrate your penguin fish
We’ll give that Oard a poke
But you probably don’t get any of this
It’s really a personal joke~

We can hope those afghans won’t steal our favorite sock
We could make our watermelon theory solid as a rock
If it starts getting pink out we just might go paperclips
Spit pop all over the dog’s food and see how bad he flips

We could pick up that girl’s face—after all, we saw it drop
But if we’re dancing to a wolf, it might be hard to stop
We want to keep the stickers; we got rid of the goatees
And we’ll use our springy reflexes that show up in our knees

And then there was all the 'repeat chorus' stuff and whatnot after that.

Writing this spur of the moment simply because I feel like rhyming.

Goodnight, dear
Don't you fear
In your dreams I'll soon be near
Not a peep,
Now go to sleep
I won't let the nightmares creep
Close your eyes
The sun will rise
There aren't any real goodbyes

Okay, so, I haven't been having any luck with poetry lately. I have been working on a few stories, but I'm a really slow writer and they're not very good anyway. So I figured I'd post some drawings--after all, a picture's worth a thousand words. (And they're not drawings like that puppy ^ in the previous post )

I looked at a computer wallpaper to draw most of Howl (from the movie Howl's Moving Castle) for this picture, then instead of drawing Sophie (main character), I inserted myself. Yeah, I have no life. The quality kind of stinks because I had to take a picture of it with a webcam.



I'll post a picture of a chipmunk tomorrow.

Here's that chipmunk, had to take the picture with the webcam again. The tape is so it doesn't get pencil smears all over the other pages in my sketchbook.

Drew this during school yesterday... This webcam stinks.

Maybe I should just start a thread for drawings/doodles/sketches and whatnot. I haven't even attempted to write any poetry lately...
