Sit is a comfortable reclined position.
Close your eyes. Sit there without moving for a few moments just relaxing.
(Tell yourself= in your head)
Tell yourself, "I am becoming extremely relaxed"
Tell yourself" I am going to count backwards from 10 to zero, When I say zero I will be completely relaxed and calm"
Count back from 10 to zero slowly. as you count, interject after every few numbers with phrases like, "more and more" "I am even more relaxed now". Around 3 or 2, Tell yourself "I am as relaxed as I've ever been" and then keep going to zero to push beyond that.
Once you reach zero, give yourself a moment.
Then, imagine yourself standing in front of an escalator going down into the ground. Try hard to picture it as realistically as you can. Tell yourself "I am going to step on to the escalator and start counting backwards from 10 to zero. When I reach zero, I will reach the bottom of the escalator and will be deep inside my own mind, far below the world of my senses."
Begin counting down from 10 to zero very slowly, and interject every few minutes with phrases like "I am going deeper and deeper." "still deeper" etc. Once you reach 3 or 2, tell yourself "I am as deep as I have ever been" and then continue on to zero.
Once you say zero, tell yourself "I am now deep within my own mind" and also affirm that you will do whatever it was you had planned to do in the first place. for instance, "I will seek out and destroy the cause of my addiction to endless amounts of meaningless sex (lol)"
When you want to stop, (wake up) Tell yourself "I am going to count from 1 to 3. When I reach 3 my eyes will open and I will be fully awake. I will feel refreshed and invigorated and remember everything I have accomplished. Then count slowly to 3 and open your eyes.
The best test to judge how well you have done is the 'eyelid test'. Basically, once you feel you are as deep as you are able, tell yourself, "my eyelids are sealed shut. No matter how hard I try, I will not be able to open them." If you have successfully hypnotized yourself, you will not be able to open your eyes until you do the waking up procedure. You can also do this with any other muscle, shut it down so you feel as though you can't move it.
