Thread: Tell me about Gangs

*sigh* the drama just keeps coming...

My hubby owns a house, built in the early 1900's. It still has a lot of the original wood and stained glass etc. The house is located in town, about a 10 minute drive from where hubby lives. He uses the house to store the medical records from his practice, as well as to keep a bunch of extra odds and ends and junk that he's accumulated over the years. It has a detached garage where he keeps 3 Harley's.

He got a phone call at work today telling him the house was on fire. The fire Marshall was there and they got everything under control before things got too bad. The fire was set at around noon today. There were 3 places of origin. On the wall was tagged a star of David, with "6 6 5" the 5 with some dots or circles near or around it. There were also "turkey tracks" (peace symbol ?) and 2 tridents.

Everything points toward it being the work of kids (ages 13-17) BUT, the truly disturbing thing is they set up a booby trap for the firemen in the basement. They put some kind of lubricant on the stairs and tried to cover it with a curtain or something.
Which indicates, to me anyhow, someone older than a teen.

The garage was broken into, but the Harley's were untouched.
Hubby lost about 1/3 of his old medical records (old stuff).
There are no suspects at this time, but the cops got some good prints and a sample of blood. The perps, at least one of them, will also likely have a horrible case of poison ivy because they climbed a vine covered in the stuff.

Anyhow... anyone familiar with the symbols used?

None of the symbols stick out for me... except for the star of David.

Don't mind me asking, but is your family Jewish? In that case... it might be a hate crime.
(Sorry, that's just the first thing that popped in my mind. )

If you family is Jewish it could very easily be a hate crime, from the Koo Klux Klan or Aryan Brotherhood or the Skinheads, or any other Neo-Nazi regime.

The Star of David is representative of the Folks, or the Folk Nation

The 6 point star is also used by the Crips.

All of these gangs are very violent and definitely not something you want to mess with. They aren't afraid to rape, beat, kill, and even burn you alive - keeping you conscious for literally hours while burning.

I just returned from the house. Hubby had one of his construction workers for his garage meet us there to board up windows and doors. From the outside, it looks almost okay. But the interior is destroyed.
The symbol seems demonic to me... it *feels* familiar, but I don't recall ever having seen it before. I took pics, but it was too dark, so I drew it.

Part of me thinks it's some kids, trying to create a gang or something. There were 3 drawings on different walls that I saw. Two of them looked like the one in the pic below... but the other one had the "feet" pointing outward instead of inward.

oh man you better be carful. Why would kids want to right that specific stuff, light your house on fire, steel medical records, not touch the harleys and booby trap the house just because they were bored.

I know of the trident being a Folk symbol, but I wasn't aware of the Star of David being one too.

They're not exact, but VERY close.
But why the heck would local juvies modify those particular symbols.

Are they trying to cause racial tension? The non-White population is so negligible that it almost must be spoiled white kids either adopting something they don't understand or trying to create trouble.

Are you sure it was a star of david and not a pentagram? They look very similar, but the star of david has six points and a pentagram has 5. Get an security system, they're fairly cheap, especially if your husband is a doctor

It was definitely a Star of David. They were 2 triangles.

Hubby is very cheap lol... but he's building a huge garage on the property he lives. He was going to move his medical records there, but seeing how there's so much smoke damage (and he's sensitive to such smells) he's now looking into some other place to store them. I imagine, he'll get everything out of the house and eventually tear it down It was a very nice place (run down but still nice) but I don't see how he could ever hope to affordably restore it.

Would you have any interest living outside the city? Not necessarily way out, as our area is heavy on the KKK, but somewhere just outside.

Did you not have insurance for the house? Or did it not cover people setting fire to it?

I'm not sure if he has insurance or not. And our houses (that we live in) are outside of town thankfully. The Farm (where my kids and I live) is 45 minutes outside of town. The trailer (which the kids and I are cleaning up), hubby's house, and the RV (where the kids and I stay when not at the Farm) are all on the same 13 acres and are about 10 minutes outside of town.

We made the newspaper today. They place the damage at $25,000-$35,000. whereas the radio placed it at $40,000 lol. The kids and I heard it on the radio this morning on my way to drop them off at school, then I picked up a newspaper on my way home.
