lol sorry, i didn't mean 200mg, they are really tiny, but it suggests only one. I heard taking one a few hours before i go to sleep will kick in the vividness quicker into my sleep |

I think its like 200mg, and i took it at 8 on the dot. I will be going to bed around 10, so you think i will be more likely to have a lucid dream. I heard it may be more vivid which will lead to me questioning the reality. I got some decent RC routines. I am working on DILD since I haven't had one yet. I have been trying for about a month, but just starting using a dream journal regularly. Please answer thanks! |

I know that melatonin can improve sleep quality, and make it easier to fall asleep if you take it a few hours before bedtime. I'm not sure about it improving the likelihood of having a lucid dream, though. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Well, vividness can have a role in attaining lucidity but it doesn't make that big a difference. It's really about awareness and how skeptical you are of what you're doing at the given moment. This is where awareness comes in handy; if you practice observing things in waking life it should carry on over to your dreams. |

Melatonin actually suppresses REM sleep...so while you're more likely to fall asleep quickly, you'll be less likely to actually dream. If you want to increase vividness, go with B6. |

Let's be clear. 200mg of melatonin is NOT fatal. Melatonin has a *very* low toxicity, much lower then B6. In fact it would require you to take 200mg PER KG per day to even begin to experience toxic side-effects. |

Just keep moving…
200 mg is about 40 times the strength of anything you can buy over the counter. That can not be good for you (or your pocket book). If anything, that'll put you out of commission for a while. Regular doses upward of 30 mg can act as a contraceptive. Some studies have suggested that it can lead to seizures and liver problems. 200 mg is definitely not what the OP took. 200 micrograms, perhaps, which won't do much at all. |

melatonin suppresses REM for the first half of the night, and causes REM rebound for the later half like any of the other serotonergic chemicals, 5-HTP, Tryptophan, and DHEA. so i would never take it unless you have plenty of time to sleep. |
