i frequently have strange, colored skies as dreamsigns. not nearly as specific as yours, but usually very interesting to look at. |

The night sky is a complex construct of various stars, planets, and other visible bodies. Anyone familiar with the layout of a specific region of the sky can employ the astronomer's reality check. Take a quick gaze at the night sky at a constellation or set of constellations in a dream and you are likely to see stars that are missing or added, out of place, disproportional, or oddly colored. For example, last night I looked at the constellation of Cassiopeia in a lucid dream and noticed that it looked unusually small and two of its constituent stars were a dark, blood red. This is not something that exists in reality. I gained lucidity and thus came up with this idea to share with the community. Happy stargazing and dreaming. |

Back into lucidity since 4.10

"...and then this mean kid came to the door and started shooting at me with a fudgecicle..."
That's a good reality check. But it wouldn't work for me; the skies in my dreams are either normal-looking daytime, or dark star-less nighttime. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Yeah, I'm like Puffin. Although my skies seem to only vary between clear blue and sunny and dark and stormy |

MY BIGGEST OBSTACLE: falling asleep
I agree. This has been one of my more reliable dreamsigns in the past. It's not subtle either. When I look at the night sky in my dreams, there are supernovae, comets, auroras, moving planets and all sorts of other phenomena. Sometimes I even see the lines between the stars such as you would see in a drawing of a constellation. It's always very vivid and animated, like everything in the universe is suddenly coming to life. When that happens, I almost always become lucid, if only for a moment. |

Woah i never really even look at the sky.... |

That sounds really cool. I've had similar experiences in which a blazing sun was hanging in the night sky but providing no sunlight. Also, I looked out of the window in one dream and hundreds of constellations surrounded by colorful hazes crowded the sky. Just last night these odd "light figures" were dancing around in the sky in that very animated way you wrote about. It's really quite beautiful and bewildering. |

Thank you for that suggestion, I like that idea! Perfect timing too - this summer I took a course on the solar system, and the first few weeks had a HEAVY emphasis on becoming intimately familiar with everything in the night sky. It was wonderful and had a huge impact on me. |

That's perfect. I took an astronomy course last year and ever since my dream skies have been so much more interesting. I guess it's just a matter of what's on your mind. I'm sure many people who do not normally take the time to look up at the sky are more likely to have overcast or bland dream skies. |

Thats okay. I am always happy to try new things while dreaming. |
