      Help with DEILDing

Hey, I'm kind of new here, and I need help with DEILDing. I've had two lucids since joining this website.

I've been trying to use an alarm to wake me up in the middle of the night, so it's basically the CANWILD method. I use a watch with an alarm that turns off automatically. I've managed a few times to not move when I hear it, but I seem to have trouble with the transition phase, it just doesn't seem to happen. I try to imagine touching things and seeing things, talking to people, but nothing seems to happen. All the tutorials I've looked at seem to skip over the transition bit.

I know you can DEILD coming out of a lucid, but both lucids I've had have ended in a way that wouldn't allow me to. The last lucid I had, I was trying to stabilize, but everything looked fuzzy because I was lightheaded in the dream, so I shook my head around trying to get it out, and I woke up shaking my head, thus ruining any chance to DEILD coming out of a lucid.

      Any advice on transitioning? Thanks

I suggest not really imagining as much and just kinda paying attention. Looking at what you see. I have done this several times and all I have to do is stay still and not pay attention to anything external and I just pop into a lucid dream. Also If you get light headed like that just try to stabilize the dream. Sit down with your DC, touch things, smell, rub your hands, remind your self it is a dream etc...

Just think of it like this. The alarm brings you to the surface of a body of water. You realize that you are, in fact, in the water, and you just stay still and fall back down to the bottom. Just don't pay attention to anything coming from the waking world, don't imagine what you will do, just don't think and fall back to the bottom. It should only take a few seconds when done correctly and shouldn't be too much to handle. It's just like waking up, staying still, then you're in a new world. It's that simple. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how this would work out in a CANWILD, but it should work pretty good when you are waking up from a dream and want to go back in.

      Good luck!

Sorry that I wasn't able to reply to this sooner. Thanks for the advice

For some odd reason I haven't been hearing the watch beep at all, so I haven't had a chance to really try this. I did find a good time to try this. When I wake up to go to school, I start drifting into a dream, so if I can either go to sleep early or do this on a weekend, I might be able to have my first DEILD.

Well, so far I haven't actually had a chance to use the advice here. I seem to either not even hear the alarm, move when I hear it, or I strangely already have woken up whenever it rings (which happens a lot for some reason). I also try to WILD now and then, but I usually forget to use an anchor, and thus simply fall asleep.

If you set the alarm for the same time every night, you will get used to waking up at that time which is probably why you're waking up before the alarm. When I try to DEILD, I try to pick random times after about 5 hours of sleep. I was also having a problem with not hearing the alarm. It was already as loud as I could put it, so what I did was make it last a few seconds longer and that definitely helped (I use Easy MP3 Alarm Clock on my laptop).
