Welcome to DV, Eclipse. My first lucid dream was my second night of actual trying. Had been thinking about it the entire two days, so repetition won over.
My personal recommendation would be to focus on 3 main things now. 1.) Dream Recall 2.) Reality Checks when something changes or odd happens and 3.) WBTB: Waking up a time or two on your own throughout the night, and do not move. This will help for other Lucid induction methods later.
My longest experience was perhaps 20-30 minutes of real-time. As for advise, I'd advise you of putting thoughts of WILD's away until you've got a couple dozen lucids on you. Try occasionally, if you like, but don't get hung up on it.
