the exact same thing happened to me the other night, only logical explination i can think of is maybe you got to excited or thought about your actual sleeping body or soemthing along those lines that caused you to wake up. |

I became lucid and the first thought that came into my mind was deepening my state. I remembered that I had to look around, be calm, touch everything around, smell, hear and so on. I did everything and then I wanted to do an RC, but I woke up when moving my arms to my nose. Why? |

My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
*Wolves are beautiful.

i don't think that thinking about your actual sleeping body will instantly wake you up. In sentence "Don't think about your sleeping body" is command THINK. It's immposible not to think about it. ;D Everyone would fail if that was the case. let's try rubbing our arms. It might help. |

but i didnt put it that way as in "dont think about your sleeping body" the way i ment it was if you realise your lucid and from what other exprienced lucid dreamers say your supposed to avoid thinking about your actual sleeping body as the more you do the more it pulls you back to it. So i thought if you got excited after bieng lucid and your trying to sharpen your senses by giving them attention specially your sight and you have your sleeping body in mind its a possible explination why you might wake up instantly. |

well it was wierd, i dont think i was lucid before hand as i was following the dream plot, but when things started fading out i suddenly realised what i had readon these forums and did the hand rub, and it worked and i was lucid for like 30 seconds then fell back into the dream plot, sort of lucid as i was aware it was a dream but on the other hand i still had the fear of getting hurt as i was getting attacked by tanks and army , but iwas still making decisions on what to do knowing i was in a dream |

If you have any doubt that you will wake up then chances are you will. Try to pace yourself, doing too many tasks at once will cause you to wake up or the dream scape to fade from your vision. You did what you should have done. Rubbing hands or holding on to something will help keep you in it longer, usually these only last 20-30 seconds if you're excited so by the time you did a RC it was probably the end of your run so no big deal. -Chase |
