      reality checks? Really?

(useing the conciouse mind and sub conciouse mind theory)

i doupt that the sub conciouse mind becomes lucid because it is doeing reality checks
if the sub thinks in the dream "i am dreaming right now" and then makes a reality check the way it was programmed to "puts light switch on and off", how would that cause the conciouse mind to awake? its not clear that the conciouseness would awake because of this

but then what is it that wakes u up in the dream?
      any suggestions? YOU? mr. READER?

When the person is in normal unconscious dreaming, very funny non-sense things occur, but the dreamer simple continues to accept the abnormal things that are happening.
Only after you awake and remember the dream you are like " wow I didn't even know I was dreaming something that crazy".
Though normal unconscious dreaming one thinks it to be real, until they wake up.

When the dreamer consciously recognizes the that it is a dream, through something like a reality check, the dream changes to a very different less vague, and more real dream.

Remember to awaken in a dream if you witness anything that too funny and outlandish.
Or your unconscious dreaming remains just that - without alertness.

It is because the on and off switch tells the unconcious part of your brain that it is time to get more logic and question stuff, of course, quite simple.

well i think that when you dream you can be more or less consiouce like you can be simply observing like you are watching a movie without any control whatsoever, or you can become more involved in the dream and control it a little more and be more consoiuse, and if you start to really get into the dream your mind will start working more trying to solve the problem that is happening therefore becomeing more and more consiouse and thinking more rationnally and start thinking about gravity, laws of physics, they notice things like why is this tree bue and why is that cow talking, then do a reality check and realize you are in a dream.

Your not 100% in your sub conscious.
If you train you brain to go "Ohh crap I'm in a dream" then wake up, it will do so.
Just like when your in a dream and then all of sudden you think "Wait a second I'm going to be late for school" then you immedietly wake up. You chose to wake up, we lucid dreamers take the "I'm going to be late for school" and transform it into "this is a dream". Then just like when your about to be awake for school your conscious wakes up and begins to party like it a lucid dream......wait it is a lucid dream.
      Lucid dream goals:
      1. Get into SP /Check
      2. have a long LD
      3: Fly
4: Have some epic battles with my childhood heroes and villians (DBZ)

so maybe reality checks need to make the sub get more logic (wakeing conscious up)
this would mean u dont just need to speak out the words or action of a reality checks , you need to actually start up your logic thinking and try hard to figure it out

i thought that to do a reality check you need to Allready be conscious so u can actually think it, because if the sub thinks the reality check it wont trigger anything
but jea maybe when we sleep we have like 90% sub actions but still 10% conscious, so if we make a reality check we need to increase the conciouseness

maybe the people who cant do lucid dreaming at all have very less percent of the conscious awake during night
how can they increase that percent?

The conscious is not going to ask the question, when the majority of control is done by the sub-conscious. But the conscious is the one who has to ask the question for the conscious to "trigger" as you say. Nice one alfalfa, i think you are onto something bigger here, there are probably better ways to activate conscious awareness in dreams and i am interested to read more from you.

My experience of being more consciously aware in a dream stems back to moments of intense fear, now this makes me wonder, does the subconscious which holds the fear, ring an alarm bell to the conscious so that it can be aware of the fear and take necessary rational precautions against it?

Lets face it guys, too much of our "selves" is made up of the unknown stuff, the uncontrolled stuff, and its this part which bothers me most. Naturally i want to be the one in control, but it just doesn't seem to be the case.

it would seem that when beeing "lucid" the sub conscious and the normal conscious have the same % awareness at same time because the sub makes actions like createing the dream
and the conscious does the usual stuff like spectateing or whatever u wanna do

do sub and conscious war each other? like takeing over , getting superior? lucid dreaming is maybe that they both in peace letting each other exist

maybe a theory could lead to:
ur at point zero thoughts, from that point the sub and the normal conscious expands simultaneously, like this they have both same awareness and war each other would bring them both down at same time, but then try to increase both more then they decrease and u get lucid out of stand? out of meditation?
i dont want to have to dream to get lucid, it would be cool if i could just start meditateing at any time and start this state of lucidity
