Lose the TV. It is an unwanted light source. Light is the enemy of sleep. Millions of years of evolving DNA have stamped 'sleep (ergo dream) when it is dark' in our big human brain. Trust your highly evolved instincts.

Every website you go on that tells how to get a good night sleep will tell you not to watch TV before bed because it gets your mind to awake. I think it just depends on the person. But id you want to go to bed quick, you should have a quiet period before bed time so you can get your mind at peace. You should write all your thoughts down ina notebook so that way you dont think about all the stuff you did that day or what you want to do the next day. That way you wont lay down to sleep and the end up awake for like an hour because your mind is racing. But that hasn't happened to me in a while and usually only happens when I'm stressed. Oh wait, I am stressed. Great
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

I have one of the loudest clocks known to man in my room... and I never hear it at night. It's just there and I never consciously take notice of it, so yeah it's subjective.

I guess this is one reason I rarely have lucid dreams LOL. I always sleep with my TV on out of habit but I also get..."paranoid" if I don't have it to light my room and to listen to when I doze off or wake up in the middle of then night. I'm not necessarily afraid of the dark but without it, I end up mistaking every little sound for something like a ghost and I get freaked out. Sad for someone my age but oh well.

The few times I've become lucid though was thanks to my TV. I had a false awakening and noticed my television was off so I was immediately like "Oh my god I am dreaming!"
All that I'm after is a life full of laughter as long as I'm laughing with you...

On the contrary, I freak out if the lights are on! If I wake up in the middle of the night, I end up forgetting that I kept them on and I think someone was in my room while I was dozing off.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

LOL is this conversation still going on Its pretty simple. If you are able to have ld's with the tv on, then keep it on. If the tv distracts you, then keep it off. PROBLEM SOLVED!
