      How to lucid dream without taking a nap?

      Tonight I'm going to try something a bit different. Its around 5 PM where I am. I woke up around 9 or 10 AM this morning. So I'm going to keep my body up until 4 or 5 at night in the AM. So basically I would be up for 23 to 24 hours... Since my body would be so tired, I'm guessing this would make my body relax more when I'm trying to do an OBE. Would this be a good/ok technique to have a lucid dream?

      Actually, sleep deprivation is known to have massive REM rebound and produces more vivid dreams. I wouldn't recommend doing it a lot but there shouldn't be too much harm in it. My dreams are crazy if I haven't gone to sleep in a long time. However, I've noticed that doing a WBTB makes them as vivid too.

      Sleep deprivation is like depriving yourself of dreams IMO. The more tired the less dreams although more vivid and diminished likelihood to be lucid given the tired state of the mind and keep at it for a period of a few months and it becomes permanent.

      That's why I wouldn't recommend it. It's better to do a WBTB to increase the number of dreams. I didn't think about the state of mind though. You probably would be too tired too become lucid. However, I was awake 21 hours before I went to sleep and had my first lucid. I was falling asleep the entire day (even slightly though Green Lantern). Again, I just don't recommend it. Being awake for so long makes you grumpy. :/

      I just read that Dopamine increases dreams and makes the dream longer but it's a chemical that is rare as supplement pills. Plus isn't dopamine the happy chemical?

      I think you usually give Dopamine to someone whose heart is failing.

      Then wouldn't that make Dopamine the equivalent of Aspirin?
