      Imminent realisation cancels sleep

Well I'm now nearly 3 months trying to get lucid, with a few minor improvements here and there but nothing over 20%, for those who know what I'm talking about.
      (For those who don't: http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/levels-lucidity-36173/)

I've had this suspicion for some time now but today I got some got evidence. The problem is, always as soon as I'm about to realize what's going on, my dream gets cancelled immediatly, nearly as though to prevent me from getting lucid and that's pretty darn frustrating.

As example: Today I dreamt that a certain person was dead for a few weeks or something like that (who isn't dead actually), I appearently didn't really care as well. But then at some point I came to ask myself how someone can be dead for weeks if I saw this person just a day ago. But even before I could faintly grasp the meaning of this I was propelled out of sleep as though to keep me from getting even a small hint of lucidity...
My sleep was cancelled before leaving the 20%.
I realized I was dreaming directly while waking up, man...

It might be an small step forward to at least notice something wrong in a dream, unlike before. But it's frustrating to progress this slowly, yet I know that some people took way more time than I have behind me so far.

Still, my question is: Does anyone know any possible way to prevent this specific problem, waking up as soon as realisation is imminent, yet not quite there?

You might be putting the cart before the horse in assuming imminent lucidity caused you to wake up. Possibly the fact that you were waking up and the logic circuits were coming online is what caused the awareness that the person isn't supposed to be dead? It's pretty common I believe.

Hm, while I don't actually think that's the case I can't be totally sure that it isn't the case, gotta think and experiment about this for some time.
Still my question stands of course. If it's like that it'd be an advantage if I could get the logic circuits to not fully shutdown upon sleep, as far as I can tell from some experiments that should very well be possible, but I only know one possible way of doing that (which would be Pomegranates, as odd as it sounds, gotta make an research thread for that when I wrap up my own results).
How to get around this problem in other ways?

Oh of course!! I only offered that as one possibility, I wasn't saying that was the only answer.

At any rate, things like this usually herald the arrival of lucidity in the near future. the idea of awareness and of lucidity itself seems to play through your dreams for a while as the mind s adjusting itself. At least it happens to a lot of people, including me.

Let me ask you this... when you woke from this dream, was it at just about your normal time to wake up? Did an alarm wake you or did you wake naturally? Did you feel you had gotten enough sleep?

Have you tried re-entering the dream after you wake up like that?

Well it was nearly about the normal time to wake up, not to say I couldn't have kept sleeping for a while though.
Which also means that that could have interfered on the one side, yet it would've also been a really good time to have an LD on the other, since I was naturally right in the middle of my longest REM phases and still felt comfy in bed.
However I had similar cases, not as directly imminent as this one though, right in the middle of the night.

I also tried to re-enter the dream but then the temperature interfered like it always does...
I have a real hard time trying to re-enter dreams or to WILD (I didn't succed in any of those so far either) unless its below 15°C I think. Because when I keep my mind just a tiny bit more together than usual (usual being trying to let my self slip into sleep), I feel the temperature and it's making me so darn nauseous to the point of no further sleep possible. Leaving me only 2 choices, to let the heat cancel all chances of falling asleep or to apply not a tiny bit of control and letting my thoughts run wild, resulting in me falling asleep unconscious and without connection to any dream at all.

Yeah, if it's hot I can NOT get to sleep for anything!!

Mmm - the fact that you woke at just about your normal time implies to me that you were probably at the end of your REM period and your mind/body were going into wakeup mode. If it happened in the middle of the night or like an hour before you normally wake then it would seem the dream cause you to wake (though even still, a noise outside or some internal body issue could have woke you and sparked a moment of internal awareness as you were waking).

But I'm no expert - far from it! So I only offer my ideas for your consideration.

Yep, and I'm thankful for every idea I get.

As for the temperature, gotta resume on my temperature experiment since I have to get sleep now. I'm not exactly happy about the 25°C in my room though...
      And I still need participants...

Anyway I'll see if I can achieve something today even though it's hot.

Something similar happened to me this morning. I got lucid and woke up. But since i managed to DEILD, i got a 20 minute long crystal clear lucid. If this happens to you again, remember to counter with DEILD.
