      Lightbulb Finding your REM Cycle

Hey everyone I just wanted to tell you that i've found away to find your REM cycles. People say that WILDing is hard but the only reason why its inconsistent is most likely because you guys do not know exactly when you REM cycles are.
Enough beating around the bush: Ok the way i found my REM cycles is through this app called lucid dreaming app. It's only for android but they are thinking of making one for apple. well this apps does much more then just find your rem cycle but I do not want to get into details. its free, so what do you have to lose.
I do have to warn you however. If you do not read into how to use it, you will be confused silly. seriously. Before I go let me tell you this: the very 1st night i used this I had the potential to have a lucid. since i knew when my next Rem cycle would be, I did WBTB. I felt the sleep paralysis on my feet but decided not to because i was scared shitless of the thought of seeing creepy stuff. I'm going to try tonight and face my fear.

the app is called " lucid dreaming app"

Was the app by a member called Ev, by any chance, I am currently testing it for apple, although I think it's quite early in development.

The app isn't called Ev, it's called Lucid Dreaming App aswell, I think we are talking about the same thing, it's made by the user on here called Ev, and produces a graph when you sleep.

Small world Has it been working for you, too Arch? I may have to pick it up, assuming I can get it to work emulated on my computer. I have an unreasonable hatred of cell phones.

Has the creator posted any information about it? Do you have a link?

well one of the main use of the app is the phone's accelerometer which picks up movement in bed so it knows when you're asleep or not. IDK if it's usable for pc. lol sorry

Ok, I heard that there is another app, but for iphone it is in its alpha/beta stage, and early development!
So far I can't use it to find my REM period, but I think I will be able to soon!

Good thread, recently got a new ipod touch and was looking for a lucid dream app

An idea/question though, i used 'sleep recorder' past few nights, and at quite interesting times through the night 04:00/ 06:00 and some others all you can here is me shaking in my bed, not like turning over in the bed, but shaking.. would this be to do with REM, as im not cold or having nightmares lol?

I cant get on wifi atm Arch, is this 'Lucid dreaming app' already out? is it worth getting?

Theres an app for the iPhone called "Sleep Cycle" anyone heard of it?

It makes a graph while you are asleep, it shows when awake, asleep and deep asleep.

Would you be able to use this to find your REM cycle?

Yes it is the same app that Ev created. And some laptops have accelerometers. Usually they have them now so that if you drop the laptop, it can sense it and turn the hard drives off so that they don't get damaged.

I'm imagining someone trying to sleep with their laptop strapped to their arm

HAHA, oh I didn't know you had to strap it to your arm. I thought people were just putting their phones next to them.

Thanks for discussing the app! The iPhone version would be significantly more accurate. Here are the results from the alpha test. I dont believe something like that is possible from the mattress based android lucid dreaming app. Sorry for the confusing UI, I really intend to clean it up for the iPhone. And then upgrade the android app to match the quality. It's going to be really simple and mostly automated. The UI of the android beta is so complex, because there are so many customization options for the detection and playback. You really have to know your sleep cycles very well and know how the app would respond to that.

      With iphone it would be:
Calibrate the app in 1 minute
      Set 6 reminders
      Hit the play button.
Sit back and enjoy. I do the heavy engineering and math automatically to understand when your REM is going to occur. I would know when it would occur 10-15 minutes before it would occur and would know with a very high degree of certainty within 30 seconds of dream onset. After that, the reminder would be played !

      Back on topic:
I found the sleep cycle wave! The top of the sine wave, after the spike on the red graph is when REM happens!

For the sake of me having to answer questions in one place, let's post them here:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/f44/you-ha...07/index2.html
and start the lucid dreaming revolution!

This is 3 days of data, back to back, notice that the time changes from 7am to 12 am between days. There's a spike in activity before each sleep cycle. For my data, I can say with a high degree of certainty that I'm dreaming from the occurence of the red spike until the peak of the blue line.

      Another attempt at sleep cycles:
