Two quick notes on WILD:
First, it may be theoretically possible to WILD when first going to sleep at night, but it is really, really hard, because you have to maintain your awareness straight through the first stages of sleep before you get to REM in 90 minutes or so. Better to use WILD with WBTB or napping.
That said, you have chosen by far the most difficult method of LD induction as your first method. That is probably not a good idea. DILD and MILD are easier to do, and should indeed yield results whether you have a dream body or not (I'm not sure why that's even a problem). I have no idea why the folks on this site speak so highly -- hell, they speak only -- of WILD when there are other, simpler methods to use, especially when new to the experience.
I highly recommend that you try the other methods. And in any case, give this some time; a few das of trying is only a beginning, not a problem.
