There shouldn't be a problem. Just sleeping how you normally do will be fine.

You are doing this after a couple of hours of sleep right? After that you have to actually fall back asleep before for your WILD to work. Be patient and wait it out and eventually you will be dreaming, hopefully lucidly.

If the lights are bothering you but you need some on, just keep one small light on, away from your eyes, like a night light. That works for me. I noticed, when it's too bright, I can't see the images/dreams forming behind my eyelids and then I can't enter the dream.

I know that WILD sound like fun, but have you tried the other method - MILD? You can fall asleep normally, lights or no lights, no SP involved, no hallucinations. Very simple. Happy dreams

The only difference between MILD and WILD is the way you enter the lucid dream. Once you are lucid, they both feel the same, since in both of them you are aware and your mind is awake. In WILD, you never lose awareness between being awake and in the dream, in DILD you fall asleep but then you become aware. So feel free in trying to WILD, but you may find MILDing easier, and the results are pretty much the same. Happy dreams

I have amazing dreams when I leave the light on. I think I sleep more lightly, which makes me more aware.

MILD is a great technique if you are good at remembering to do things. At its core, it is just about remembering to reality check next time you are dreaming. If you MILD after a wake back to bed, you only really need to remember for 5-15 minutes. I wish it were really that easy

Well, first you realize you dreaming and then you RC to make sure. Once you are lucid, you usually remember what you wanted to do. If not, probably doing more RCs during day will get you into habit of that. Happy dreams
