Doing fingers Dream Recall in dream but not becoming Lucid...Am I doing it wrong? I think I need ano

      Hey Guys!

So the past two weeks (I quit THC too) have been amazing for my dreams. I am remembering almost all my dreams (except for a few times when I wake up clueless) and I am almost excited to go to sleep every night. Anyways, I do Dream Recalls at least 40 times a day. I stop...ask myself if I am dreaming and I check my fingers...and understand my surroundings.

My issue is last night I had a dream (this was one of the ones I couldn't quite remember much) but I do remember doing a recall and seeing that I only had 4 fingers....however I did not become Lucid! (Or...thinking about it in retrospect...maybe I did...but I just did not remember it...is this possible? Can I have great dream recall for two weeks, intermittently forgetting dreams here and there, and forget my second LD?) Anyways this happened. After that I went on to wake up...attempt to write ANYTHING in my journal...and head back to sleep to have to other extremely vivid dreams..without becoming lucid.

Any ideas? Should I try a more concrete recall?

Another thing...I had my first LD on Tuesday..how often was it until you guys started having regular LD's? I try to WILD but I can never get into SP so I give up after a while (it'll work eventually) however I'm trying to make MILD and DEILD my best techniques so I can have regular LD's for time and time to come.

Sorry for the long post and the huge amount of questions.

If you were lucid you would have known, sounds like you're not really thinking if your dreaming or not hard enough when you do your RCs. Don't worry it happens to all of us

It seems you have the term recall and reality checks mixed up. Recall is remembering your dreams, reality checks are what you are referring to, but I have had this happen to me once before with reality checks failing to make me lucid. Maybe you forgot to ask yourself if you were dreaming. What I have found helps with this problem is to perform more than one reality check at a time such as checking your fingers as well as plug your nose and trying to breathe, while also asking yourself "Is this a dream?" Another thing that I find helps attaining lucidity is whenever you do a reality check you should expect them to work and expect it to be a dream. However this might not work for you, it does work for me though because expecting it to be a dream helps me attain lucidity before even performing the reality checks most of the time, the checks are just reassurance for me. As for how long it will take you to start having LDs regularly that all depends on how determined you are and how much you believe that you can do it again. The more belief and determination you have towards it the more success you will have. Hope this helps, best of luck to you.

I think I'm on the right path though - everytime I do a RC my heart starts to race. Almost like...I really question what's going on around me.

I do think I'm moving forward though well though...and every night I go to sleep I honestly believe that that is the night I'm going to have a LD...and if I don't I just end up remembering a truly AWESOME dream.

That is good, motivation is the key, just stick with it and you'll be lucid dreaming on a regular basis before you know it.
